Hey guys, new here and to the tri 5. Bought my first one a few months back. Did new floors, trunk, rockers, lots of body work, brakes and got it running after sitting for years. I replaced the 3 on the tree gear oil with synchromesh gear oil. Ive seen people praise 80-90 and others say its garbage. This stuff supposedly is good with "yellow metal" ao i pit it in and drove around the block... seems fine. Just looking for some guidance on whats the best thanks! ... 3 on the tree 57 6 cyl trans oil ..read more

One of the favorite topics around my shop is the "Demonstration" rides I give to new and returning clients. My 55 is pretty unassuming and until I start the motor, it looks like Aunt Betty's car from 1964. The typical "ride" goes like this; We ask if they have ever been in a Tri Five? Once the niceties are taken care of we get them relaxing on the passenger side of the comfy couch of a front seat and suggest they try on the lap belts. We chat about how nice the Ciadella interior looks... Scaring strangers. Taking unsuspecting people for a ride in a REAL hot rod ..read more

the wiring on my '57 is a mess. It has been hacked up over the years. Everything works but there is electrical tape, butt connectors, splices, etc everywhere. I want to update the wiring to an AAW harness. Is it possible to install the AAW harness without first removing the stock harness or would that just make things too difficult? For those that have done this switch in the past, what method did you use? Completely remove stock harness first then install or install the AA harness while... Building a 1955 2 dr post 210 car. Purchased a one piece fiberglass headliner from TMI. It goes in thru the rear window fits good so far. Problem is selling vendor says end of fiberglass by front windshield is between pinch weld and rubber gasket. Does not look right. Saw 1 done on u-tube and they left window shield in not sandwiching fiberglass and pinch weld in gasket. Has anyone done 1 of theses ..read more
