Started April 29th, ended May 9th. Geographically, Amsterdam to Manchester, Blackpool, Castle Bromwich, Derby, Birmingham, Amsterdam. Blackpool was a riot. >5K "Young Farmers" there for their "AGM". I am not aware of a venue they hired but they did pack out the bars from opening to closing from Thursday to Sunday. Well that was the best away day I've ever been on. Absolutely brilliant! Didn't leave Derby till 10.00 am because of duties elsewhere, and landed on holiday at 1.00pm, met up with my middle son and his mates outside The Castle. "Don't go in there" they said - the dj was positioned opposite the front door, taking the rip out of any Derby fan walking in, and he was merciless - unless you laughed at him, then he didn't know what to do next apart from pick on someone else. I fly out tomorrow morning (Friday). Sounded like good news from the Rooney press conference that he thinks negotiations will be far enough forward to start offering contracts to players in 7 to 10 days. He has said it will be a strong XI including a couple of youngsters again. They deserve the chance he says and it gives him a chance to run the rule over them with a view to next season.
