Fork and blade connecting rods

I thought that all V-x where x means 4,6,8,10,12, and 16 have one bank of cylinders offset from other bank because the connecting rods sit side-by-side but I found out from watching a video that there were some V-x where x means 8 and 12 have fork and blade connecting rods. The V-12 engines used in airplanes had overhead cams. The V-8 engines used in 1910s-1920s Cadillac and Lincoln had flatheads. How did the valve train work on those engines? I searched the Internet but I couldn't find anything ..read more

First, Honda's specs, from the Service manual for 2008-10 models: Front Toe: 0", +-0.08" (Honda specs angles in inches - most machines use degrees) Last May, my local shop fulfilled my request for a hair of toe-in on the fronts: L +0.04" and R +0.04". This positive toe(in) transformed my Accord from a "nervous hunter" of corners to a rock steady cruiser at 30mph on roads and at 60mph on interstates. I no longer had to provide minor corrections every few seconds of travel time. The steering wheel had a strong centered feel, and exhibited strong self-centering from turns. Since then, a few n ..read more

I have a 24 year old car with a "plastic skirt". Basically it covers the lower part of the car body from the elements. I just removed them because the paintjob was heavily weathered and would like some input on how to properly repaint them, especially what type of primer to use. Generally i am using the Spraymax 2K system on my car and i actually have a 1K plastic primer from them also but want some more input on this. Any thoughts how to approach this ..read more

When I start my car for the first time of the day and drive within the first 1-2 hours, I can feel the car slipping or jerking in and out of gear. It's a fully automatic car with a "manual" mode. I replaced the transmission fluid within the last six months, and I've checked with my own personal code reader, but no error codes are being shown. Does anyone know any reasons why this could be happening AND if possible can be fixed without going to a mechanic ..read more

Hi! I caught this flickering headlights on video the other day. Unfortunately I don't know what type of car this is - but I was wondering ... Is this intentional or some malfunction? :2cents: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15yr...w?usp=drivesdk (Short Videoclip, 4MB) Greetings ..read more
