Hi, I'm an EE student who just completed 2nd year. So far EE related, I studied Circuit theory 1 and 2, Electromagnetics, Signals and Systems, Microcomputers/Computing systems 1, DSA this year out of which Circuit theory 1 and 2 interested me the most. I also took a design studio course in which we made a bunch of projects including a metal detecting robot and I really enjoyed learning about the hardware part and building circuits. From that the industry that I could tell is right for me is power. I studied a little about 3 phase systems and that really interested me so I'm thinking to follow ..read more

Experience experience

It's been a month since I graduated, but I'm still unable to find a job. I think the lack of experience is the reason apart from the bad market. But still some of friends are able to get an offer in this market and the only difference between him and me is he got a year of professional experience. How can I gain experience in RTL design or verification without a job? Is there any way? submitted by /u/ruyuk223 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Two shells r = 1 and r = 3 have electric potentials V = 100V, and V = 0V, respectively. What would be the electric potential at r = 2?

I just assumed that V (as a scalar field) would be in the form of c1/r + c2 V(r = 1) = c1 + c2 = 100 V(r = 3) = c1/3 + c2 = 0 -> V is specified. Is this accurate? submitted by /u/ProfessionalOrder208 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Why do I2C and SPI require more than one wire? Since full-duplex communication over one wire is possible, what is the factor that limits having full-duplex using only one wire?

We could use FDMA or CDMA to be able to put more signals in a single medium. So we could do it to send CLK, txA and txB. So what's the limiting factor which is instead let us use I2C and SPI? submitted by /u/New_Dragonfly9732 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

PhD-level ECEs: Did anyone here transition from software/programming based doctoral work to more hybrid work afterward (i.e. at a post-doctoral level)? How did you do so?

I have been trying to figure this problem out for three days: can anyone tell me what could be causing the voltage drop on my FRDM-KL25Z's P3V3 when I connect a mechanical relay module to the circuit (not driven by the KL25Z)?

Context and Previous Troubleshooting I wish to control a mechanical relay using the FRDM-KL25Z (revision F) dev board and some sensors. I initially connected the KL25Z to my computer's USB port and powered the relay from the board's P5V_USB pin, but I noticed that the voltage of the P3V3 pin was dropping to 2.8V (from the expected 3.3V) when the relay was engaged. This was messing up some of my sensor readings. I thought "The USB port must not be able to supply enough current". I found a 5V wall wart and connected the board and the relay module in parallel. When the relay was engaged, the P3V ..read more

I can't figure out how to replicate the line graph of DC load line and the Q-point I see on textbooks for my homework. How do they do it?

I have been searching on how can I replicate the DC load line graph I see on textbooks and I can only plot the points of Q-point , Ic sat, Ib, and the Vce cutoff, but not the line. When I put the formula/s in Desmos or Geogebra, I only get a slope or an output without a line. Basically, I wanted to visualize my data using graphing calculators and put on my homework but I can't figure it out how. I may just hand drawn them but I will be putting it on our lab report so I can't hand drawn those. submitted by /u/Wangysheng [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
