David and Vicki celebrated their marriage with a reception at the Stotesbury Mansion. The best thing? This was a reception 25 years in the making! When they were married, the couple didn’t have your ‘typical’ party afterwards. After lots of planning, they decided that with this milestone anniversary, they would pull out the stops and celebrate with family and friends.
The Stotesbury Mansion
The Stotesbury Mansion was built in 1870 as a wedding gift for Thomas McKean’s son, Henry. (interestingly, Thomas was the descendant of a Delaware delegate who signed the Declaration of Independence!) In 18 ..read more

Last weekend, Kristen and Howie had a wonderful winter wedding at Riverfront Events in Wilmington. It was a beautiful day, and though chilly, it was bright and definitely what you would expect in February (not like the 70 degree day two days before they said ‘I do’).
Preparation & Winter Wedding Ceremony
Aaron and I had the privilege of capturing this sweet couple’s day. We started photography indoors as Kristen’s makeup was being finished and all her final touches were put into place. Close by, Howie got some help with his boutonniere, buttoned up, and everyone was ready to go! Howie and ..read more

Should We Get One?
Couples spend hours upon hours planning a wedding. They spend hours dreaming about their wedding. They invest a great deal (both energy and finances) into the wedding day itself. The day comes – it’s wonderful, beautiful, and filled with joy. And yet, in what seems like a blink of an eye, the day ends! The main part of my job as a professional wedding photographer is to help couples hold on to these moments that pass by so quickly. To freeze them in time with beautiful digital photographs. And yet, I believe that the very best way I ..read more

One of the beautiful things about an engagement session at Longwood Gardens is that the space is so large. You can’t cover everything in a one hour session. The gardens are also always changing, and therefore, the sessions are always different. As a Wilmington Delaware wedding photographer, I shoot there a good bit – it is right up the road! I love that every one of these sessions is different from the other.
Carlos & Ina
I’m excited to share images from Longwood last week with Carlos & Ina. I really enjoyed my time with them. The story of how they met is amazing! They are both body bu ..read more

You are in for a treat with this beach wedding sneak peek! Hannah and John crafted a unique wedding day for intimate family and friends early this December. The bride got ready at a home in the Peninsula with her Mom, sisters, and niece nearby to help. Her dress was simple and chic – with a full bodice overskirt of shining stars. All beautifully made and designed just for Hannah!
The Beach Wedding Ceremony
Typically I don’t think of early December as ‘beach season’ in Delaware, but Hannah and John had a really gorgeous sunny day and it all just worked! It was a comfortable 50 ..read more

Sarah & Thorne’s October Wedding Day
Sarah and Thorne’s wedding day was as unique as it was beautiful. This was my first airport wedding ceremony. Sarah and Thorne are both pilots and serve with the Delaware Air National Guard. I’m thankful to both of you for your service, Mr. and Mrs. Harkin! Their first date was on board ‘Champ’ the yellow and orange plane you’ll see below. I kid you not – Thorne set the bar really high on that date!! Following that, it was only natural that they would make their vows to one another at the New Garden Airport in Toughkenamon, Pennsylvania.

Featuring Dean & Deborah’s Pennsylvania Wedding
One thing I love about my job as a wedding photographer is that nothing is ever really the same. Every couple is unique – having their own love story, personalities, and ways of relating to each other. They have their own interests, their own likes and dislikes, and these things show up in the wedding details. The dress, the veil, the colors, flowers, transportation – it’s different for everyone! I LOVE capturing and focusing on what makes each couple’s day unique. The things that make each wedding ..read more

Sara & Jay
Fall is in full swing and my schedule is feeling the effects. It’s hard to believe a full week has gone by since Sara and Jay’s beautiful Hagley wedding. I’m in love with the color and light from their ceremony and am so excited to share these images.
As Sara was walked down the aisle, she smiled and laughed at Jay’s priceless expression. He was blown away and it showed. And the light. The light was just amazing. The sun was still shining during their late afternoon ceremony. You can see it shining on the trees behind Sara as she walks down the aisle. You can also see it in the ..read more

When we shot BJ and Britney’s engagement session in the (literal) freezing cold of January, it was a little hard to imagine what it would feel like for their summer wedding at Worsell Manor. August 27th finally came, and it was beautiful. We started the day by getting Britney ready. One of the coolest details was that she wore her mother’s wedding garter – it was her something old, something borrowed, and something blue all in one!
When she was dressed, we had a first look with Britney’s bridesmaids and BJ’s mom. So many great expressions here that I had to share lots of images from that momen ..read more

Last week I had the privilege of capturing Cinthia and Ernie’s wedding day. They planned their wedding at Elk Forge, a historic manor that is now a functioning bed & breakfast and event venue.
Cinthia and Ernie have been together for 21 years. I love the excitement that they had leading up to their wedding day. It was evident whenever I spoke with them. The day of, the nervous excitement kicked in as it so often does. Like so many couples though, the nerves seemed to vanish as soon as Cinthia and Ernie saw each other. It’s beautiful how that works. &nb ..read more
