Minneapolis Golf Club is a gem of a wedding venue.  Not just because it’s gorgeous and a stones throw from anything that could make your out of town guests feel comfortable, but because Nancy and the rest of the staff there take incredibly good care of their couples.  Katie and Zach are both incredibly kind humans and also basically professional dancers: their first dance was hands down the best choreographed dance I’ve ever seen.  I think I laughed more with Lucy and Alex and their wedding party more than I ever have to date. The word that comes to mind over and over about this day is: stunninnnnnggggg. Jonny and Alena’s wedding was so chock full of wonderful moments and portraits, I honestly had a hard time keeping this post under 150 photos. It was also a rare treat to be able to capture their rehearsal dinner at the Hewing Hotel the night before AND our first time shooting a wedding at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Weddings at the Whim never disappoint and Alida & Ryne, with the help of the fab planner duo Dos Goats (love them btw), put on a helluva day. So many incredible moments and as a dad myself, the ones with their little boy just melt me into a lake sized puddle. It doesn’t take more than a few photos in to see just how much they laughed (and cried) together that day. An absolute stunner of a wedding at the Metropolitan Ballroom in Minneapolis. I shot there years ago before the remodel and boy oh boy is it a night and day difference since then. Jana & Connor are total gems themselves and they compiled a truly wonderful day with gorgeous details abound, executed by Jess and her team at Dainty Details. The florals by Pansy Floral were incredible—in all their dark and moody glory—with some of the best, most tasteful table arrangements I’ve seen in ages that fit the space perfectly. Fancy car, fancy boat, a cute chapel, a cute cabin and of course: a cute couple. We met Amanda and Alan 2 years ago when we shot Alan’s sister Cloe and hubby Cal’s wedding and their family and us became fast friends so we were stoked that Amanda & Alan wanted to have us along on their special day too. It was a fabulously quaint brunch wedding at Grandview Lodge in Nisswa that was a perfect match for this low-key couple who just wanted to spend their wedding day doing the things they love most. Dan & Emily are rockstars. They reached out last fall to see if I’d do their baby bump and newborn pics(so for anyone wondering: yes I do these kinds of sessions ). Referred by a past wedding couple (thanks Jon & Alex!) we quickly realized we had some lifelong friends in common.
