Change isn't new, nor is the fear that comes with change. The unknown is scary.
In this episode I talk about what's working, what's not and what is just outright HARD for business owners in 2024. From AI to staffing woes to the ridiculous price of Weetbix bites, this is one of my all-time quality 'Elsa rants' that I'm sure you've grown to know and love.
It's not all doom and gloom though, I share my positive insights on how I think it's best to navigate the economic climate in 2024.
Just my opinions thought. DYOR.

As a woman in my 40's I get a rush speaking to other women who are kicking goals and living their best lives after 40.
"It's YOUR time!". And if you know, you know!
The fierceness of a woman brave enough to step out into the world of personal branding and building a business after motherhood and 'life' deserves to be celebrated.
In this episode I speak to Bec Giles, who quite frankly could be the poster child for how life after 40 SHOULD look like. Bec talks about going all in with an absolute power house and boss energy amongst the chaos of love, loss, family and chaos to chase her dreams.

In loving memory of her beloved step mum and the most inspiring woman; Leanne Preston who you met in episode 54, Amy sat with me and shared her own incredible story shortly before Leanne’s passing at the end of 2023.
Making both stories and the bravery of these incredible women all the more special and worthy of celebrating. And this a treasured addition to my show.
Amy, the founder of Australian sunscreen brand; Found My Skin, speaks so candidly about the realities of growing a product-based brand on her own as a mother of 3 and, it is quite the ride.

I’m baaacckkkkkkk!
The days of the lazy podcaster are OVER! As I say to my clients on the daily if
your good at writing – WRITE, if you’re good at speaking – SPEAK!
This episode is the start of my comeback series and another year of me sitting
in my cupboard laughing at my own jokes and hoping you do too on the other
side.
Be prepared for some WIDLY inappropriate story telling in this episode mixed
in with some Elsa wisdom that’s not really that profound.

We’ve bantered online for years, I’m a loyal client and she made me my very own custom candle that said; “this candle smells like ass” and dropped it on my doorstep last Christmas.
We live down the road from each other.
True story.
But we’ve never met.
No this is not a twisted tale of candle cat fishing, just the inside scoop of one of the most successful candle businesses I’ve ever known and the quirks and gifts of its founder Shannon. A real straight shooter like me… so of course you’ll love her!
I’m this episode Shannon shares her journey as an extreme introvert in business and the challeng ..read more

Never, have I ever, felt so damn inspired after speaking to a podcast guest. If this story doesn’t blow you out of the water, I’ll eat my microphone.
Honestly, there is so much to this story and something for everyone, I don’t even know where to start. Parenting wins, acts of kindness and generosity and sheer focus and determination are just a small fraction of what makes up Leanne’s story.
Leanne literally built a global company and brand that still decades later, graces the shelves of our retail giants. This is what I like to call a ‘basement’ story. Where an idea literally did kick off at t ..read more

I’ve talked about unsupportive partners in business A LOT, and I’ve
spoken about no partners or... dead partners! But I’ve never spoken about
husband and wife partners in business.
So, I’ll go there and revisit all my other fav things around this topic to
whine about as well.
Don’t worry whilst of course it wouldn’t be Bossy Bitch if I didn’t rant and
rave a little there is actually a lot of beauty and positives in this one too. I
have had some new experiences working with business owners lately and
it’s been an eye opener. I feel good about it

Stepping out of the shadows with ADHD parent coach Susan Hughes
ADHD couldn’t be a more popular topic these days, particularly in the world of entrepreneurs, but this episode isn’t here for that.
This is beautiful mish-mash of speaking to an incredible woman doing life changing things and flying far too under the radar for my liking.
Her work is impactful, her drive is inspiring, and I light up like a Christmas tree when I speak to her so I’m pretty sure you will too. Added bonus for the parents of ADHD children.

Where businesses go wrong with their client gifting with Bianca Carlino
Oh man I have such an issue with businesses that fall short on their customer service so in this episode it’s safe to say I have the whinge of a lifetime.
The thing is quite often it’s the bigger brands that miss the mark, the irony in that?
So if you’re ready for a full scale ‘Elsa rant’ this is the episode for you. Like I always say; “good customer service is never good enough”.
