During the pandemic I was aspiring to be a Graphic Designer with a specialization in brand design. Now I have a different job and I don't want these designs to go to waste. I think it's needless to say that I'm NOT open for commissions. I would love to hear your feedback. Please enjoy. submitted by /u/muchacho_black [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

New to the fandom just finished the book, there seems to be quite a toxicity between book fans and movie fans. What are the main points of contention?

In the "A Journey in the Dark" chapter in Fellowship of the Ring Gandalf mentioned that he ". . . once knew every spell in all the tongues of Elves or Men or Orcs, that was ever used for such a purpose [opening doors]. I can still remember ten score of them without searching in my mind. . . ." Did Gandalf not consider using a spell book to aid his memory? Perhaps he was afraid if he walked around Middle Earth carrying a book of spells, it could be stolen or misplaced, and fall into the wrong hands? Not sure if this was ever addressed by Tolkien in his letters? submitted by /u/RobertWF_47 [vi ..read more
