Hello. I have a John Deere 1600 that I recently purchased and seem to have a problem with it starting. It will turn over and start but then immediately stop. It will sometimes stop running at idle as well but when it’s mowing, it seems to run great. It only has 2200 hours on it and I was hoping for some ideas on diagnosing what’s wrong. I had a service tech from John Deere look at it and he drained the fuel tank/water separator and replaced the fuel solenoid on it. I then replaced the fuel filter and lines up to the injector pump. I also replaced the park safety switch thinking maybe that was ..read more

Purchased an Easy Change as part of an official maintenance kit but I cannot get onto the mower. Obviously the original filter fits fine but I cannot get the new one to seat down far enough so that the little flanges can engage when you turn it. Is there a trick to this?

I’ve never had a problem starting this after winter but just went to fire it up for the first time and it won’t start. It tries to turn over but also makes this odd squeaking noise - any thoughts on what I can try?

In other words, what's the lowest speed when the throttle is set on the lowest setting ("turtle") and the accelerator pedal is floored?

My father in law (84) calls me from his rural 40 acres yesterday, and says the keys aren’t in the ignition. We never remove them, but whatever, they’re gone.
Are the keys vehicle specific, or can he just head to the local dealer and get a new set? Ie, are they all cut the same?
I see online a pair for <$10, but didn’t know if they’d need to be cut like a house or car key.
Thanks!

Sorry for the dumb question, but I recently got the x350 with the power flow system. Leaves are the bane of my existence so it was essential. I'm just curious, for those of you that have this system, do you just bag all your clippings year round or do you take it off until fall? Or is there a way to keep it on and not bag (I'm assuming just removing the bags and letting it shoot out the back isnt the best idea)?

Hey everyone. I have a John Deere x350 that is maybe 8 years old. The engine started sputtering and acting funny, so I parked it. I changed the oil, oil filter and fuel filter. The arrow on the fuel filter is pointing in the correct direction. It started and ran for maybe 20 seconds and died again. Now I can’t get it to start. I’m not super knowledgeable with small engines. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or troubleshooting tips. Tia

Seeking basic lawn mowing and lead pickup etc on a mostly flat yard.
Hey everyone I’m overwhelmed by the choices but have learned that the L and 100 series models (I’m sure and others) are the big box store models with a plastic transmission that often fail.
I cannot afford new - I’d like to buy used and am mechanically inclined if needed but will only purchase something turn key ready.
What models should I be looking for? My previous post regarding an older model did not reply so it must have sold.
Thanks in advance.

I haven’t even had it a year and I cracked the plastic black grill. Got a new Grill from John Deere and was wondering if anyone ever replaced their grill. There are plastic pieces on the inside of the hood that need to be removed to get the old grill out. I’m not exactly sure how to do that without breaking them. Any suggestions?
