As you may know, the Yellowstone area was impacted by devastating floods this past month, washing out roads, homes, and businesses in its path. Incredibly, Yellowstone National Park officials aided by federal government funds have been able to restore and repair a large portion of the roads and services that were initially affected. Three of the five entrances to the park are now open and accepting visitors. Yellowstone To Partially Reopen This Week

Yellowstone National Park has announced that the South Loop will reopen this Wednesday, June 22, 2022, about a week after devastating floods and rock slides swept through the area taking out houses, roadways, and bridges. Thankfully, no deaths or injuries from the flooding have been reported. Traffic will be allowed in through the West, South, and East entrances with access to Madison, Old Faithful, Grant Village, Lake Village, Canyon Village, and Norris. There have been devastating floods causing widespread damage in Southern Montana and northern Yellowstone National Park, including in Red Lodge, Travel Montana’s headquarters. Thankfully, our staff in Red Lodge are safe along with their families and homes.  Current Conditions Red Lodge was severely impacted, with people losing their homes, bridges washing out, the downtown area flooding, electricity outages, and water still not on in half of the town. When is the best time to view wolves in Yellowstone? The truth is the seasons have various pros and cons but you can see wolves in Yellowstone all year long. The gray wolf is a major predator that had been missing from the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem for decades until its restoration in 1995.
