I have a 2013 John Deere X540 with 48" deck. The serial number is in the 080400's. The PTO quit engaging this year. The battery is fairly new and checks good. So far I've replaced the switch, and the ECM and it's still doing the same weird thing. With the seat switch bypassed, parking brake off, Mower starts fine. When I push in the clutch and switch on the PTO I get no voltage on the blue PTO power wire. If I let off the clutch and switch on the PTO I get 15 volts coming into the wire... Long story short - I bought and old 750 (with 3 cyl yanmar) that was sitting for years. I took head off and discovered that the rings were broken and had some corrosion in the cylinders. Since I knew nothing about this tractor transmission/hydraulics - I didnt want to dump a bunch of money into it so I just did a basic in frame rebuilt - honed cylinders, new rings/pistons and lapped valves. I just pulled my plow off my x324 John Deere tractor and installed the deck. I went to engage the blades and didn't get any response. The PTO won't engage. I'm about to start troubleshooting the tractor but I don't have any electrical diagrams. I don't know how many safety switches the tractor has other than the seat switch. I was using my John Deere 950 the other day, moving machinery into my new shop, using the FEL and pallet forks on the 3 point hitch. I stopped for a water break , and when I came back, the 3 point does nothing, it will not lift at all. I checked the fluid, it is full and still clean. I can see the linkage moving.
