Changed all fuel lines, pickups in tank, fuel filter. Tractor runs and starts on level ground, when cutting on a slight hill filter runs out of gas, filter will not fill with gas when you try to start it on angle. Put on level ground filter fills with gas when you star it. Tried reserve pick-up still same results ..read more

So I came across a lx279 today that's been sitting for 10 years because supposedly the "brain box" went bad in it. So they bought a new one. I checked it out. Hood is missing but deck is there and all spindles move freely. Doesn't look rusted out. It's been in a shed for 10 years so covered in dust. Didn't see an hour meter. Coolant was full. Oil was barely any on stick. Owner says it ran fine before "brain box" went out of it. Is there anywhere on these engines where mice can get into the... I have replaced the fuel filter and carburetor today. And upon attempting start it (everything was put back to spec), the flywheel fan fins mysteriously sheared off and it's not sucking fuel in, found out about the vacuum fuel pump so that's taken care of. But now the gas pedal is stuck and won't move at all, cant press it down whatsoever. I'm stumped, any advice would be appreciated. Thank you ..read more

165 to 180 deck and axle interchange

I've got a 165 that's beyond saving, but it came with a 38" deck with the 4 bolt spindles. The deck shell is in decent shape, but every bearing is seized, and I don't have the belts or else I'd just test fit it. I also have a 180 that runs and drives, but doesn't have a deck. The parts manuals on weingartz show that the 165 could come with a 38" deck with either the 3 bolt or the 4 bolt spindles, but the 180 only shows the 38" deck with 3 bolt spindles. Does anyone know if this 165 38" deck... 165 to 180 deck and axle interchange ..read more

Well the title says the problem… I was mowing some tall grass and I noticed it wasn’t pulling hard… come out of the tall grass and boy did it take off… So before I blow it by running wide open I need to get it fixed. The engine has been rebuilt from top to bottom 15 years ago and only 25 hours at the most on it ..read more
