Hello ladies this is a little embarrassing but I took up cycling in the first lockdown and discovered an absolute passion for it. I purchased my bike from Facebook and the first saddle from what I can remember was a sponge material and it was absolutely fine from what I can remember. I then changed it to a leather one which was recommended by my local cycling shop and within my first ride (20-30 miles) I had extreme internal swelling in my private region which left me unable to cycle for... I've been riding since the first of June. My current ride is a men's Trek 7.2 FX hybrid. I bought it from a local Trek dealer and have been very satisfied with it. I can ride 19 miles at this point and am doing weight training a couple of times a week and occasional swimming to cross-train. I'm a BIG girl (5'91/2", 235 lbs.) with a long back (wear men's shirts a lot because they fit better). When I started having comfort issues with the Trek, I went back to the LBS I bought it from... My wife has a narrow face and most cycling glasses make her look like an insect. She had a small pair of Oakleys, but lost them a few years ago. Recently bought a pair of Smith cycling glasss, but the lenses in them suck. Can anyone recommend anything? Something that I could swap out clear lenses for the winter would be nice. Given that the last traffic here was almost a year ago, I'm not holding my breath ..read more

My wife has gotten more and more into cycling and when doing longer rides, has started having discomfort in her private area. Can anyone please recommend some shorts or bibs that could help with this. It's mainly the seam that goes right down the middle. Thanks in advance for the help.. It's greatly appreciated by a husband who loves riding with his wife ..read more

Hello all, I'm new to the group as well as cycling. I recently bought a cheap roadbike online and put it together (there isn't a shop within 50 miles of me). Got a helmet, some tubes, co2, a bag--just your basic stuff. Finally got out and rode for an hour the other day. My bottom was soooo sore. The next day I went to unload the bike, was gonna ride down the drive and immediately jumped back off because of the pain in my bottom. I haven't bought shorts or bibs yet. I read the more you ride... Newbie, just getting started ..read more

Selle Italia Diva (woman's) Gel Flow Saddle

I bought this for my wife: It appears to get very high ratings (Amazon, REI) and everyone (almost) gushes about how amazingly comfortable it is. I got it on Amazon for $120; REI had it for $160. Briefly, I blew it. (Return would be much more straightforward with REI than with a 3rd-party amazon seller.) Anyone else here have any experience with this saddle? We've tried tipping it down, tipping it up... Selle Italia Diva (woman's) Gel Flow Saddle ..read more
