I have had two surgeries which have left scar tissue in my interior ‘bike seat’ area. The location of this scar tissue has made road biking impossible, only because of the pain involved with the seated position. Has anyone else encountered this and can anyone recommend a seat specifically designed with female anatomy in mind? I would love to ride my road bike again ..read more

Help needed! Any women out there have any experience with 'Bikers Nodule' ? Pressure from bike saddle has caused me this painful swelling which takes days to reduce and comes back after only about an hours ride so I'd really like to know what solutions you've found. Have tried harder saddle and played with the heights and tilts. Wonder if softer saddle actually the answer or a 'nose less ' option. Thanks ..read more

Over here, a senior means 60 years old and above. In one aerobic session that I had attended before, I heard a woman said that biking is not beneficial when you are a senior because of the potential abuse that your body will get. That gave me food for thought because that was the time when the mouse on my right calf started showing. But I'm still below the senior bracket huh. Anyway, do you agree that 60 is the retirement for riding among women ..read more

You may be surprised with the reason why only few women are biking here. They don't want to get a tan. Yeah, it is the opposite here that in the US, you want a darker skin but over here, people want a fair skin hence the more they can avoid the sun, the better for their skin. And even if there is a sun block lotion, it is only for the beach but not commonly used when riding. But in fairness to those who avoid the sun, it is noticeable that most bikers ,the male species, have dark skin due to... Read more ..read more

Can someone please advise on what kind of tops would be good for riding in the summer? I can't wear anything strappy or too low cut for obvious reasons but I would really like something that does not make me sweat like a beast after twenty seconds of pedalling. Any ideas please ..read more
