Got the FTP higher today - up 20w.
I also hit 318w for 5 minutes and 5 seconds at 194bpm.
Ouch on the HR!
Good to see mine's not too outlandish. Did 10 minutes at that exact same power this morning and 187bpm. I find 190bpm+ a bit uncomfortable - that peaked at 195bpm.
Think the days of 205bpm+ are past, which is probably a good thing!

Yep, poor weather. I haven't commuted on the bike at all this week, no interest in getting rained on.

Also closed is the bridge across the river in Parramatta coming off Phillip Street and going beside the Sahra restaurant.
They are doing construction work to paint(!) patterns and messages on the path. I’m all for the cultural stuff but this is where people walk or ride to get to and from work! I have some photos, will post later.
Not pleased at all.
do you know if the bridge has reopened?
hopefully the wet weather hasn't delayed it.
Bad weather this week so not going into the office.
They weren't working on the bridge, they were doing this:
They tried to keep it well hidden what th ..read more

Jebus, I just had a look and they have one but would end up costing me nearly $80.

Must be the postage and exchange rate?
I would do that rather than bodge something up.
Tubeless tyres cost that much but I pay it, as they just work.
I'd put the old one back on before I'd pay that much for $3 worth of aluminium.

Not something I've done for a modern bike, but looking at the sacrificial hangers on a couple of my modern bikes and those photos I would say you could make a replacement out of aluminium or steel plate fairly easily?
I've made a few of the old 'claw' type hange ..read more

Just done a trip down the Sapphire Coast of NSW. Unfortunately Mogo is still not open so had to settle for some laps of the dam loop, will come back later in the year.
Narooma, absolutely awesome, I'm not a full face helmet and pads type rider so stayed off the blacks but did everything else. I have no idea why people are shuttling here, the climbs up are easy. I really like Dirt Art's trails, they just flow really well. Has something for everyone, even the old XC trails were fun.
Tathra, for a place that has had no funding, that i am aware of, and is all mostly hand built it's incredible what ..read more

Not so sure about the 'lightweight Japanese steel' reference, but possibly an interesting Speedwell in ACT:

Have you tried wheels manufacturing?
A few came up when I put "wheeler" into the bike brand search.
