In this episode I talk with local bike bag maker David of Ridgeway Works. David quit his job in March to cycle around Europe with his wife, and then covid-19 struck and cancelled their plans. This is when David decided to turn his hobby of bike bag making into a business. Ridgeway Works was born in May 2020. I really enjoyed talking with David and found out he lives about a mile away from me. We talked about David's planned trip, the bag range, the design process and materials used, the extensive testing of the bags and his successes in cyclocross racing. He's even been a proper gent and of ..read more

In this episode I speak with Kevin who has organised the Great British Divide. The Great British Divide is a new unsupported MTB bikepacking event from one end of the country to the other. The first edition was due to start in July 2020 but sadly the 'C-word' had other ideas….. It's now moved to 2021. Kevin tells me... it’s not a race, it is an adventure to be completed in a couple of weeks. Travelling from the bottom to the top of Great Britain, at times taking a less obvious route whilst still passing through much of the most beautiful, dramatic and testing terrain the country has to offer ..read more

In this episode I talk with Michelle Brideau.  Michelle's originally from Canada but is now living in Bristol UK with her husband. Michelle started cycling after having her first flare of Chrons disease, she soon found regular cycling was helping to keep her symptoms under control.  I found our chat about how she manages her disease extremely interesting and very similar to my experiences with Ulcerative Colitis. Like many of us she fell in love with cycling pretty quickly and decided she wanted a big trip across her home country of Canada, a 4100 mile trip from one coast to the ot ..read more

That was until 2020 paused racing. In 2021 Becky will be racing for clash racing (www.clashracing.uk), an alternative racing team founded in Bristol. Go check them out, they've got a real fresh approach to cycle racing.  I started this podcast to talk to cyclists about their stories which I've personally found inspiring. In this first episode of Season 3 I talk with Boru McCullagh who back in December cycled the Rapha festive 500. He did it a bit different though. He cycled it in one go and around a velodrome, 1,112 laps to be exact. To make it even more challenging the velodrome, Herne Hill in London, is an outdoor one.  As it's Easter I thought what better time to release an inspiring story about riding 500kms at Christmas time, haha! It's such a cool story that created quite a buzz on social media at the time, a proper awesome film was also made about Boru (& Tim's) challenge. You can find Calvin ..read more
