Henry Ford Museum Wedding – Jacqueline and Brandon   This dynamic duo of fun and goofiness were so much fun to photograph on their big wedding day. Jacqueline is such a unique twist of a classic beauty and her she wears her heart literally on her sleeve (it’s a tattoo). We used just about every part of the Henry Ford complex for their wedding; the museum, the chapel and the Eagle Tavern for their wedding reception. From the Model T ride to the merry-go-round, I think we almost did planes, trains and automobiles!     Getting Ready Photos ~ The wedding party got dressed on separa ..read more

So planning their Halloween themed wedding at Canterbury Village in Lake Orion, Michigan was a no brainer. Canterbury Village goes all out with Halloween themed “sets” which we took full advantage of. Don’t you love Sam’s black wedding dress? One of the best parts of this wedding was that all their guests came in costumes as did the staff of the venue. It was awesome!   Love the drama of this fog photo at the Canterbury Village for the Halloween themed wedding.       Gettin ..read more

Marci Curtis

So how do you memorialize a recent death at weddings without making everyone sad? The bride’s father cries during the “daddy/daughter” dance at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan.   Unfortunately, 2023 has included a death of someone near and dear to the couple in half my weddings so far this year. There is a hole the size of a wrecking ball in the middle of what is supposed to be the couple’s “best day of their life” and celebrating feels out of place in the midst of grieving. What is a couple to do when they are celebrating while actively grieving? What’s appropriate? Is it gauc ..read more

Waterview Loft Dock Mystery Honesty, I did NOT think I was doing anything wrong or asking my clients to do anything illegal. But a picture’s worth a thousand words, right?! Every time I’ve photographed a wedding at the Waterview Loft in Detroit, the venue has built into the timeline a time to go out of their dock in front of this lovely waterfront Detroit, Michigan wedding venue. I do this all the time. It was originally the wedding venue’s suggestion! Pretty sure some of those image are what attracted this particular bride to book me. It’s always helpful to have a staff member come along to ..read more

What were my favorite wedding day moments from wedding season 2021? There were SO many, it was really hard to narrow it down.
