Let’s help our local teachers with their classroom wish lists. I’m linking all of the lists I receive below with a description of who/what your donations go towards. Jessica Ruiz: Teaches 2nd Grade at a Title I school, which means all of the kids qualify for free lunch. Her kiddos don’t usually get their own supplies so she buys them out of pocket. Let’s help Jessica clear her list! Jessica’s List Catherine Ward: A teacher at Monaview Elementary who recently won a “First Class Teacher” award. Her friend described her as “so cool and a fierce advocate for her students and their families. She i ..read more

It’s Prime Day! Well, the day has come. It’s a belated Amazon Prime Day! And of course, I’m scouring every so often for the best kitchen finds. Usually, I try to save my appliance purchases for days like this when they go on sale. I’ve gotten everything from air fryer to coffee makers to robot vacuums. But Amazon also has a lot of smaller kitchen items that I consider must-haves as well. Below I’m linking all of my favorites from things I’m buying today to staple items and gadgets I use regularly in my own kitchen. Appliances GoWise 5.8 QT Air Fryer: My air fryer is the most used appliance i ..read more

Welcome back, Y'all!! If you missed part 1 of my Tour d'Greer, you can read it here. But for those of you who have, let's get to Part 2! LUNCH After our mini shopping spree, Jamarcus and I were hungry. Our next food destination was Ira's Chicken. This quaint new spot is the Upstate's first hot chicken shack which will make some of my followers very happy. I've gotten many a message asking where to find the best hot chicken in the Upstate. And while there are a couple of restaurants that have it occasionally, I'm now happy to report that you can find a dedicated spot right in downtown Greer! Na ..read more

Tour d'Greer Part 1

When I was in college, I worked for a summer at a bank in Greer. Growing up in Greenville, I actually can't say that I ever set foot in Greer until that summer at the bank. Cut to quite a few years later, I'm back in Greenville which is blowing up, and Greer is making their own moves as well. I'd heard a lot about all the wonderful changes Greer was making to its cozy little downtown but had yet to see it for myself. A chance Facebook message got me connected with Greer CPW and Greer Development, and 'Tour d'Greer' was born! My mission: check out 3 new restaurants that opened recently in Greer ..read more

Welcome to 2019!! I’m not going to lie to y’all, 2018 was not my favorite. I had a lot of ‘new’ in my life in 2017: new friends, living on my own in a new apartment, a new puppy, first international trip, 3 new countries, first solo trip, etc. While I did some cool things in 2018, it seemed a little lackluster. Maybe it’s because I turned ::GASP:: 30 and felt super MEH about it. But regardless, it’s a new year which means new adventures and new goals. I don’t really believe in resolutions because I think they are made to break in the end. But I do believe in setting new goals for the year to s ..read more

BBQ Heaven in Fountain Inn

Last month I had the pleasure of attending a sneak peek at Bobby’s BBQ which recently opened in Fountain Inn. Now, I’m not going to mince words here; it was mind-blowingly awesome! There are a lot of top-notch barbecue spots around the Upstate, but Bobby’s BBQ is doing something truly special. Their passion for barbecue shows in the process they have created, the time and energy they have put into the new restaurant, and their dedication to family. Now, normally I'm all about the food but their story really touched me so I wanted to share with you to help you get a full picture of what a gem t ..read more

Recipe: Holiday Rice "Stuffing"

The holidays are here! And you know what that means? CARBS! Haha. While that is partially true, there is way more to the holidays than just the food. But if we're being honest here, it's my favorite part. And one of my favorite dishes of all is stuffing. If that's not on my Christmas table, I'm going to be a Scrooge for sure. But not all of my family members can indulge in the gluten-goodness that is stuffing. So this Christmas I've partnered with Riceland foods to put my own twist on the classic recipe. My rice stuffing hits all of those holiday flavor high notes without all of the gluten. An ..read more

Friday Fave: Grimaldi's Fire & Frost Menu

One of the things I miss most about living in New York City is the pizza. There were pizza shops on every corner where you could pop in and grab a slice or two on your walk home from work. There's just something special about New York pizza. One of my favorite memories of New York pizza was visiting the famous Grimaldi's Pizzeria under the Brooklyn Bridge when my friend, Lauren, and her husband came to visit. We waited in a long line that wound down the street to get into the shop. It was a long wait but so worth it to get that delicious coal-fired pizza Grimaldi’s is known for. Imagine my sur ..read more

Cheeselandia is a Place on Earth

Who doesn't love cheese? (Well if you're my neighbor, you might not, but I feel like she's the exception to the rule.) We all LOVE cheese. It can be creamy, salty, nutty, stinky, sweet... you name it, there's a cheese out there for you! And if you live in the US there's a really good chance that the gouda you go gaga for is from Wisconsin. One out of every four pounds of cheesy goodness comes from the ‘grate’ state of Wisconsin. They produce 2.2 billion pounds per year. Yup, you read that right... billion with a 'B'! That's un-brie-lieveable!!! (I'm just getting started with the puns, so get ..read more

Friday Fave - Pumpkin Pie Latte from The Village Grind

Everyone has a go-to pick-me-up for when they're having a rough day or want to treat themselves. For me, my newest obsession over the last few weeks has been a Pumpkin Pie Latte from The Village Grind. Good day? Celebrate with a latte. Dreading the workday? Caffeinate with a latte. Your dog woke you up an hour and a half early by stepping on your face? At least you have time to swing by for a latte before work. I will totally own my basicness in pursuit of this latte. It's not too sweet and doesn't have any of that fake holiday nonsense taste like some other chain coffee shops that I won't na ..read more
