It's wedding weekend for Kayla and Joe so I am reliving their fun engagement session from last fall while I charge up all of my gear, print my shotlist, and triple check that everything is good to go! Last weekend kicked off my first of many events at the Bar Harbor Inn for this season, and I am so pumped to be back there again this weekend celebrating these two! On their vacation to Bar Harbor last year, we got to document their recent engagement! We started on the cliffs in Acadia National Park - popping some champagne and giggling with some silly poses. For the second half of the session, w ..read more

An out of the box branding session for a creative soul with many passions. Lauren invited me to her home to capture some life-style photos of her and the things she enjoys the most. The photos would be used for a variety of purposes, including her website where she offers intuitive coaching and tarot readings. Lauren has many hobbies and passions that we wanted to incorporate in these photos to help the her story. We started our session where she spends most of her time - in her writing room where she reads, writes, and meditates surrounded by books, plants, tie-dye tapestry, and her work spac ..read more

Anniversary Session at Claremont Inn | Southwest Harbor, Maine Photographer

When a session ends, and the strangers I just met feel like my best friends, I am reminded of why I love this job so much. Being a photographer in a small, coastal town in Maine brings me new clients from all over the country while they vacation here on Mount Desert Island. When Sean reached out to me inquiring about surprising his wife with a 20 year anniversary session on their celebratory vacation, I didn't realize this wouldn't be like my typical session. They requested to do their session at the Claremont Inn, in Southwest Harbor, as that was where they'd be spending the majority of their ..read more

After postponing their wedding, Kaitlyn + Kendall didn't want to wait an extra year to officially become husband and wife. With just their immediate family, and dog, they had a backyard minimony this June. They exchanged the realest vows I've ever heard - filled with humor, emotion, and so much love. The family home was tastefully decorated and filled with snacks, cake, and custom cookies for everyone to hang out and relax afterwards. It was a short and sweet day, and I am really looking forward to celebrating with them again next year for their big day! Scroll through to check out some highli ..read more

Samantha and Daniel showed up to their session looking like they were straight out of an Eddie Bauer magazine, and I absolutely loved it!! I am all about choosing clothes that feel like YOU. They have a yearly tradition of having anniversary photos taken, and this year they were visiting Bar Harbor to celebrate their anniversary doing lots of hiking, so the outfits fit the occasion...and it's a good thing too - it was quite windy & chilly for these Texans! I just love the adventurous vibes of this session, scroll through and check out our fun session. Their Testimonial: "We knew we wanted ..read more

Emily + Kameron | Oceanwood Barn Wedding | Coastal Maine Photographer

Emily and Kameron went through a lot to get to this day, but it was still absolutely beautiful nonetheless. Their summer wedding took place at a new venue in Birch Harbor, Maine called Oceanwood Wedding and Event Barn. Their ceremony took place nearby the barn alongside a small pond. Kameron and his stepdad hand built all of the wooden benches and arbor for the ceremony. Emily and her dad walked down the aisle to a song that was sung by a close high school friend that recently passed away. I don't think there was a dry eye around. After they shared their first dance and emotional speeches, we ..read more

Planning Your Ceremony Time | Maine Wedding Photographer

One of the biggest mistakes that I see from weddings...is the ceremony time. There are lots of factors that come into play to help you determine when the ceremony will begin on your wedding day. As a wedding photographer, I encourage you to consider the sunset time when creating your ceremony time, especially if it is outdoors. It is even more important to think about in the fall, with the days getting shorter and shorter, the sun can go down pretty early (especially after daylight savings!). But there are a few things to keep in mind when planning around the sunset time! Scheduling your cere ..read more

The very first wedding that I ever photographed lead me to this wedding four years later. Jordyn was a bridesmaid in her cousin's wedding, and ever since then she knew that she wanted me to photograph her wedding someday. (How freaking sweet!) Jordyn and Alex had a laid back vibe for their day. The most important things to them were celebrating with their loved ones, joining their family into one, and having quality photos. It was a beautiful day filled with so much love and emotion, I am so happy I was to capture it all for them! Their Testimonial: "Emily did a wonderful job capturing our we ..read more

For their Acadia National Park couples session, Ashley and Chris wanted to document their first trip to Maine this spring and I would say we did a pretty great job of that! They brought their mini labradoodle, Foley, to the beach and he was included in almost all of the photos...he may have stolen the show a little bit, but we are all perfectly okay with that! Fun Fact: Dogs are only allowed at Sand Beach in Acadia National Park in the off-season. From June 15th-Sept 8th, dog are not permitted. Enjoy looking through some of the photos from this day and seeing sweet appearances of Foley! Their ..read more

Five years ago, Leah and Mike got married at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport, Maine. Leah had messaged me at the beginning of this year and told me she was looking for a photographer to capture family photos at their wedding venue with their baby girl. (Such a sweet and unique idea to do!!) She didn't have a particular date in mind, but she was thinking sometime in April or May. Given that I live a few hours north, I told her that I would be passing through the area at the end of May. I was heading to photograph a wedding in Cape Cod so I could do a session that Friday on my way through ..read more
