When Catt and Cody initially reached out to me, they shared that they wanted an intimate elopement in Acadia National Park, and were hoping for my guidance as to where to have their ceremony. Initially, they asked about Otter Point, to which I advised them against. Now, Otter Point is a STUNNING SPOT for an Acadia elopement, and it is a spot many of my couples choose for their ceremony or portraits, but unless your ceremony is at sunset or sunrise, there's a good chance that you'll be sharing the spot with many other tourists. Because of their hope for privacy, I recommended Seawall, a rocky b ..read more

Jenna and Andy decided to get married on Little Cranberry Island, at the stunning Islesford Dock Restaurant, having NEVER VISITED IT. Why? Because they had seen an Islesford Dock Restaurant wedding I had photographed in 2022 and knew they had to have their wedding at that very spot! I was thrilled, as not only does it have the most incredible golden hour and sunset light, but its location, directly on a fishing dock, overlooking the ocean, is so iconically Maine. Basically, having your wedding offshore of MDI gives your guests a full Maine island experience- not only do they get to experience ..read more

I was very excited for Travis and Greg's wedding because I had shared such a joyous time with them at their Ogunquit Maine engagement session. It had taken place in June, which was such a rainy month this year, but we met up during an unusually sunny day to make some cliff portraits on the Marginal Way. I remember how warmed I felt by both the sun and their playful connection with each other, and eagerly looked forward to their wedding weekend in September.
I arrived on Friday to photograph their welcome dinner, which took place at The Rangeley Inn. Not only did I get to know Travis and Greg's ..read more

I had so looked forward to Lindsay and Ian's Schoodic Point elopement because I had really enjoyed meeting the two of them during their Winterport engagement session, but this was my first time photographing on the Schoodic Peninsula! While most people believe that Acadia National Park is contained on Mount Desert Island, Schoodic, which is an hour away in Winter Harbor, is also technically a part of Acadia. It's worth a visit- it is beautifully rugged and quieter than MDI, which makes it an ideal spot for an Acadia elopement!
We started off with a first look and stopped for some couples portr ..read more

Most couples opt to have an after ceremony, somewhere between 4 and 5pm, and then plan a reception that lasts well into the night. Maddy and Matt, whose wedding took place at the Bar Harbor Inn's Reading Room, opted for a noon wedding ceremony. The benefit to an earlier ceremony and reception for a Bar Harbor wedding is that you can do less couples portraits during the wedding, and then plan for a portrait session in Acadia National Park after the reception. The light was perfect as we visited a few spots around Acadia, and ultimately maximized the time Maddy and Matt got to spend with their l ..read more

"We are all a little weird and life is a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love." - Dr. Seuss
Rodrigo, Diana and Kiril's officiant, surprised them with this quote during their wedding ceremony, and as I took some couples portraits of them afterward, they mused over how wonderfully it described their weirdness. Without thinking, I immediately responded, "oh, you're not weird!" but as I've worked on these photos, basically reliving Diana and Kiril's wedding day, I take my comment back. The ..read more

Midcoast Maine is a popular area to tie the knot, and for good reason- it's a beautiful and serene area to visit at any time of the year, but especially May through October. The weather is temperate and typically warm, usually allowing for outdoor ceremonies and portraits, and the low key, peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal spot to relax and spend time with your favorite people. Have I mentioned that the midcoast's coastline is particularly craggy, making for stunning vistas? It's such a lovely place to host a wedding!

As with all New England weddings in June and July this year, there was a chance of rain. A thunderstorm, to be exact. The air was humid and held the promise of rain, even though the bright sun and summery temps was misleading, but the rain held off RIGHT UNTIL the end of the ceremony, which was exciting. We had luckily already done the bulk of our portraits pre-ceremony, so we welcomed the rain and the break in humidity as guests enjoyed cocktail hour inside.
Sadie and Nick opted to have their wedding on Lake Winnepesaukee, a place that was special to them. One of their favorite places of resp ..read more

We expected rain for Elise and Chris' Acadia elopement, as the forecast looked dire from the start, but the day of, the forecast changed to 20%. Amazing, I thought! Unsurprisingly, as we started their elopement coverage at Eagle Lake, it began to rain (for those of you in the know, June was a very, very rainy month). Elise, Chris, and their loved ones came prepared, umbrellas in hand and spirits high. So long as you're prepared, a rainy elopement can be an adventure!
We began Elise and Chris' elopement at Eagle Lake, and after they shared a first look and we had captured a few portraits, it be ..read more

Maddie and Joe's Bar Harbor Inn wedding, situated on the stunning Mount Desert Island, was rainy. And by rainy, I don't mean light sprinkles- I mean a full onslaught of rain. It wasn't a surprise, as the forecast had predicted heavy rain for a few days, but imagine my surprise when I arrived to Bar Harbor Inn that afternoon and learned that Maddie and Joe still planned on having their ceremony outside! Many couples would have opted for a drier, warmer, indoor experience, but Maddie and Joe wanted to have the harbor as a backdrop for their vows, and can you blame them? Bar Harbor Inn sits direc ..read more
