I have been looking forward to Mick + Alaina’s wedding since they first reached out to me back in December. A springtime wedding in Portland at the Westin? Sounds amazing! Unfortunately for me, COVID had other plans (as I mentioned in my last post). Fortunately I had a plan, and a great friend, in place already and Clare went to capture the couple tie the knot. But I got to relieve the day through their images before sharing them with you. What stands out to me the most about Mick + Alaina is that they are so true to themselves. I am often asked what is “normal” for weddings and my answer is a ..read more

It took two years, but I had a plan.

Since my first year in business, I have had a backup plan should I ever be in a tough spot and not able to photograph a wedding. It was never a plan that I wanted to need. When the pandemic hit in March of 2020, it was always in my head as we were all anxious about testing positive. It was an added layer of stress on top of all of the other aspects of trying to maintain my business. When 2022 started, it seemed like maybe I had dodged it, which I am sure was a common mindset for many. As someone who in vaccinated and boosted, I breathed a sigh of relief. Unfortunately, COVID had other plans fo ..read more

As you look for the perfect photographer for your wedding, you will likely found a long list of “must ask” questions while chatting with who you are considering. To make it easier for you, I have started this series of blog posts to answer all of those frequently asked questions. As a boutique wedding photographer, I only accept 10 couples per year for weddings. Because of that, I am able to provide my couples with their fully-edited gallery of images within a few weeks of their wedding. My goal is to have it ready for you as soon as you return from your honeymoon. That being said, my contract ..read more

Amelia + Tyler's Fort Williams Park Micro-Wedding

I have known Amelia since back in high school when we attended the same boarding school in Massachusetts. Needless to say, I was very excited when Amelia & Tyler reached out to me about capturing their nuptials. Like many couples, their plans were forced to change several times between their engagement and their intimate gathering at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth. As I often say to my couples, the most important point of your wedding day is to be married. So even the pandemic could not keep these two from tying the knot during the fall of 2020. As Amelia arrived at the Park, everyon ..read more

Looking Back at 2021

Oh, 2021… what a challenging year you were! Personally, you were very challenging in many ways. We struggled with the continued chaos of the pandemic and its impact on our lives. Hybrid learning was a blessing and a curse for our daughter as it meant we got to spend more time together, but our typical schedule was tossed in a blender. Our hearts continued to ache after the abrupt loss of our beloved Digby in October 2020. Not hearing his footsteps or feeling his kisses… his absence was noticeable. The year was not without its highlights. We spent another summer at camp on Long Lake in Bridgton ..read more

Elizabeth & Abe's Garden Wedding at the Harraseeket Inn

It’s been two years since Elizabeth & Abe’s wedding and yet it still feels like it was yesterday. Elizabeth & Abe prepared for their wedding at The Harraseeket Inn in Freeport, Maine, surrounded by their loved ones. Everyone watched as torrential downpours came down while hitting refresh on the radar in their weather apps to ensure that it was going to clear. And it did! The ground may have been wet and a passing light shower did go over us… but the skies were blue with white fluffy clouds. It was gorgeous! With their union sealed and their portraits captured on the gorgeous property o ..read more

As you look for the perfect photographer, you will likely found a long list of “must ask” questions while chatting with who you are considering. To make it easier for you, I have started this series of blog posts to answer all of those frequently asked questions. One of the most important questions to ask your photographer(s) is if they have a backup plan if something prevents them from photographing your wedding. None of us would like to imagine that happening, but being prepared is important! There are several ways that I have created a “fail-safe” for the unlikely event that I am not feelin ..read more

The "M" Family Portraits at Long Hill in Beverly, MA

One of the greatest joys I have after almost thirteen years of photographing weddings is when I get to see my couples again for updated portraits. Fortunately for me, Emily & Dale reconnect every year or two to do just that with each side of their family. And, every time they do, I count down the days as soon as we set a date. Getting together with them is like a family reunion. The kids keep growing. We spend lots of time laughing together. We explore the chosen location. And we capture fun portraits while we’re at it. This spring I traveled down to Long Hill in Beverly, Massachusetts to ..read more

Oh, my dearest Alex & Max. I have been dreaming of their wedding day for almost a year since they first contacted me about their nuptials. I fell in love with them as we chatted about their relationship, engagement, and vision for their wedding day. I knew that I desperately wanted to have the opportunity to work with their and capture the start of the next chapter of their life together. Needless to say, they made my week when they told me that I would be able to do so. When the actual day came? Phew. Better than I could have ever dreamed. They got ready for their day on family property t ..read more
