Hey guys!
So I have an Acer nitro 5 (AN515-54-5812) and I added a 4tb Corsair SSD (CT4000P3PSSD8B) to the second m.2 slot. At first the laptop seemed fine; booted up like normal. Although, the new SSD did not show up in disk management, which is strange. I restarted the laptop, and then the BSOD's began.
The BSOD code I was getting everytime was KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE. After the blue screen, the laptop would restart. After restarting, it would then proceed to get stuck on the Acer splash screen. At this point, I would have to hold down the power button to force shut it off. This would ..read more

Hi all,
I was wondering how I would go about using my GPU (RTX3000) for computing large amounts of data. The GPU is available in the device manager and I have added the programs (Geneious Prime) that I would like to run on the GPU listed in the graphics settings but when I attempt to run a small alignment process of 18x 30kb (kilobase) sequences (my goal is to reach >10,000x 30kb sequences) I'm not seeing activity. I've seen suggestions about changing memory allocation in the BIOs from the CPU to GPU but want to make sure there isn't something else I can try before changing anything. If I ..read more

I acquired a Samsung Series 7 Chronos NP700Z5 from my aunt, delivered with Samsung's pre-installed software and bloatware. Choosing to optimize its performance, I conducted a comprehensive formatting and installed Windows 11 on the laptop, equipped with 8GB RAM, a 750GB hard drive, Radeon 6750M graphics, and an i7 2nd gen processor. Despite these modifications, the system failed to meet performance expectations, prompting a decision to revert to the original configuration. Challenges arose with the Samsung Recovery Solution (SRS) during this process. After unintentionally formatting its partit ..read more

The dynabook satellite pro current battery capacity changes erratically from 79% to 19% on different days and so off power lasts between 3 hours to 20 minutes. Original Capacity in 2020 was 45600 and today it is 8800 mWh. Last week it read 51%. I have tried resetting it and am thinking a new generic battery is proper or else a new laptop. It is the inconsistent reading that confuses me. Had it been constantly at 19% day in day out then that tells me it is finished ..read more

So I'm looking to buy a usb wifi adapter since the built in wifi card disconnects me from time to time for some reason and I cannot connect back until I restarted my laptop.
So the store I'm buying has 3 choices (A 150mbps Wifi+Bluetooth Adapter, A 300mbs Wifi Adapter, and a 600mbps Wifi+Bluetooth). I'm wondering whether the 150mbps adapter would be more than enough for a 25mbps wifi ..read more

Hello I have been searching with the data reflected in the battery : Part Number 807611-421 and Volts 10.95V, but there are a small label that say Replace with HP Spare Part Number 807956-001 that is a 10.48v Battery, so it is confusing to me those 2 Part Number and Volts difference, I think is better 10.48v but i don't know if is good to go with the 10.48v instead of the factory battery 10.95V

Hello,
I have a Lenovo N23 80UR, which I believe is a Chromebook, and I've noticed the screen is no longer displaying anything despite the device power being on and fully charged. I've confirmed as much as possible it's not an issue that the brightness is too low to see, and I've hit the function key and brightness up on the keyboard without success. I've confirmed it works fine when hooked up to an external monitor. Anything else I can try, or should I assume the screen is broken? Thanks in advance ..read more
