I don’t know about you
But I’m feeling 22…
It’s not very often that you wake up to find that it’s 02/22/22. When this happens then it’s time to have your aunt break out her shirt making skills, piece together a Taylor Swift outfit and throw a party ..read more

There is a lull between high school graduation and major life events (weddings, kids, etc) when children’s lives often go undocumented. One of my strongest encouragements for high school senior parents is for them to schedule a family session. Even if it’s not with me, schedule the session! If you don’t capture family photos during the lull from childhood to having their own children you’ll blink and they’ll grow up. I am so happy that Tammy agreed me with on the importance of capturing this season of their family ..read more

Graduating college looks quite a bit differently in 2022 than it did in the early 2000’s. A pandemic and technology has rocked the way that potential employers hire and recruit their new employees straight out of college. Work from home has made it possible to live in West Virginia but work in California. I hear parents debating what they should get their college graduates to help set them up for life after school and I have a little secret to spill: you college graduate needs professional headshots. In today’s market a professional headshot whether in a suit or featurin ..read more

Life isn’t always easy. Sometimes it’s downright dreary but even when there’s rain on the horizon (literally) and the sun is setting, if you can find a little courage to dance everything will be better. These little girls proved that during their session ..read more

Did you know that the KBP studio can be transformed into a magical glitter land for birthday princesses? True story! Every once in a while a little birthday princess asks for a party dress + glitter and we make magic happen! This sweet girl noticed during her Back to School mini session that I had princess dresses and we were able to convince her momma that we needed to be allowed to play with her glitter for her birthday ..read more

There are things in life that when you’re doing them you wonder why then afterwards the joy they bring makes it all worth it. Things like giving birth or having glitter thrown ALL over your studio. Just as I’m starting to question my sanity, these excited little people show up at my studio and light up with excitement when they’re told they can throw glitter anywhere they want. Let’s be honest mommas, we do not allow that behavior at our homes, right?
Some are timid and decide to draw in the glitter, but others embrace their inner Tinkerbell and launch it as though they ..read more

The last 18 months have been unlike anything we could have imagined in our wildest dreams. The world as we knew it changed in a blink of an eye. For many kids in our area they left school on a Friday for Spring Break and didn’t return for over a year.
School is still very different from what we knew as children. It’s very different than what these littles knew only a short 18 months ago. Despite all the changes these little people have handled everything that’s been thrown their way better than the adults. They continue to smile, laugh and enjoy life despite the obstacles. And boy, were ..read more

COVID derailed a lot of things for many of us, including birthdays. Birthday became a bit of a mess but luckily little ones don’t notice when birthday pictures are a little late. Two years ago before COVID hit we celebrated Bowen’s 1st birthday on time with absolutely adorable birthday bath photos and cake he didn’t love. This year in the midst of a pandemic and two parents who work in healthcare we ran late on his birthday photos. We made up for it with ice cream. Yummy, delicious, and very cold ice cream – that he did love, unlike his cake the year before ..read more

Home: (noun) 1. the place where one lives permanently.
This last year has been rough on the Class of 2021. Nestled along the Elk River in Kanawha County is a class of students which have a very unique circumstance. This school, Herbert Hoover, no longer has a building. In the summer of 2016, before any of the seniors graduating this year had a chance to enter the doors of their high school, it was flooded. Unrepairable. These kids never had a single moment of high school in a normal school.
The Class of 2021 at HHHS had all the odds against them before they even began their high school career ..read more
