Some of these YouTube channel creators are off their fucking rockers when they post "vehicle capability reviews". I saw a video yesterday from a guy who takes a Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness onto Tahuya Trail 55. During the video, the Crosstrek isn't even phased. I brought my 2001Jeep Cherokee into a transmission specialist recommended by my neighborhood mechanic. They quoted me $3,600-3,900 depending on if i want to do oem components or aftermarket for the electrical repair of the trans. For context, the transmission has had a bad leak for over a year and need to fix it before I take the car on teh highway for extended periods. Probably the most sought after spec on these Gen 1s IMO. Has a few tasty upgrades including rear axle assembly off a 95 Montero SR w/ factory locker and disc brakes, front diff has a LSD from a 89 Starion, Bilstein 5100’s, Siberian Bushings all around.
