Vancouver Whitecaps are back on top of the MLS Western Conference, and still Kings of Cascadia, after a dominant display down the I5 in a 2-0 victory against a Seattle Sounders side that lost their composure, lost their defensive sensibilities, and ultimately lost three points. Jackson Ragen’s red card towards the end of the first half put Seattle in a hole. Second half goals from Ryan Gauld and Brian White, on the back of forcing defensive turnovers, buried them deeper, before Alex Roldan’s horrific challenge on Ali Ahmed sealed their fate. Vancouver Whitecaps were sent crashing back down to earth at BC Place on Saturday night. A week after a dominant display against Toronto that saw them on top of the world and on top of the West, the ‘Caps felt like an away team at home again as the visiting LA Galaxy put them to the sword in a 3-1 victory that left you feeling a bit of anger and disappointment at how Vancouver approached this one and frustrated at the amount of squandered chances the team wasted, with Brian White the main offender. White did bring the Whitecaps level with a 77th minute header that cancelled out Dejan Joveljic ..read more
