Hello, everyone! I am Iris Fok, and I have had the incredible opportunity to work with BAZOOF! as a graphic designer and illustrator. My journey began in September when I joined as an intern graphic designer, and I am happy to share my experiences.
I had the opportunity to be on the design team for the Spooks & A Bear #84 Digi-Mag & Penguins & An Elf #85. We’ve now got the Winter issue almost ready! Being on the production team, I can explore and expand my graphic design skills via this role, and it has provided me with a unique insight into crafting content for a young audience ..read more

If I have to sail overseas
And fly over the seven skies
Or discover my own land
And deal with buzzing bees
Then I have to let go of all my fears
And learn to deal with fireflies
And let go of the word grand
To fit in the large caravan
Of the travellers travelling by
Through sea, sky and land
I need to be brave and bold
Not timid and shy
I should learn
Learn to eat, drink, and wear
In whatever I may earn
And learn to have a big heart
Which would make me able to share
And only then I could be able to dart
On all the questions
Asked about being a traveller
And walking with ..read more

BAZOOF! Digi-Mag #84 is out next week and here is a sneak peek at the feature story. It’s by Jaycee, Age 12, and here is how she describes it in her own words. “Hi! I have written a really cool short story. It’s about a boy named Max who goes to camp and gets chased by a bear. It’s not scary. I don’t want to spoil it but, they outrun the bear.”
Jaycee does share a great tale about a boy who can have a hard time being responsible but the school fall camp proved he has a lot more in him than he even thought. Read this story and much more in the next digi-mag!

Lee, Age 11, has her poem published in BAZOOF! Digi-Mag #83. Space was tight, so included here are some of her interview responses. Congratulations Lee, on your published poem titled, ‘Gretchen.’
1) HAVE YOU WRITTEN MANY POEMS?
I love poetry because it’s such a free art form that doesn’t require much specific format. There are so many different ways to write your poems that you can’t compare one poem to another because they seem completely different. Honestly, when I write poetry, I just spill my thoughts onto the page and worry about everything else later.
2) WHAT OTHER TYPES OF CREATIVE W ..read more

I remember the day a hero came to our town. July 11, 1980, Terry Fox reached Scarborough, Ontario on his historic run to raise money for cancer research. In the eyes of the nation he was a hero, braving the unprecedented challenge of running across Canada on one artificial leg.
Although I didn’t get to see him in person, I watched Terry’s arrival on tv. “I’m going to do my very best,” he told the cheering crowds. “I’m not going to give up.”
At the time, my dreams included creating the world’s biggest sticker collection, designing a fun-house for the fair, riding a horse ..read more
