Ever get let in on a secret? It’s exciting and I get the excited jitters every time somebody reaches out to me about a proposal. It’s a real blast trying to come up with ideas and plan how to surprise your partner with a proposal. As a photographer, I am not only excited, but honored every time I get to be apart of one. This proposal was no exception. The location was the Speed Art Museum here in Louisville, Kentucky. I got a last minute call that Maxwell’s original photographer had to cancel. I was happy that I was available and able to step in! And I was even more excited after I heard more ..read more

Want to hear something funny? The first time I did a newborn photoshoot, I actually really disliked it and vowed I’d never do one again. The poor baby cried the whole time, I was trying so hard to get the “perfect” photos of the baby alone instead of naturally involving the parents. Well, that was almost ten years ago and I’ve learned a lot since then about newborn photos! They’re very different than other photoshoots, but I have come to adore them. Now I do a lot of newborn photo sessions here in Louisville, Kentucky and the surrounding area. Maybe you’re a current client of mine with a baby ..read more

A Cabin & Outdoor Boudoir Photoshoot in Red River Gorge, Kentucky

I do realize that the title of this post is a bit contradictory … the fact that the words “outdoor boudoir photoshoot” are together is a contradiction in itself, as boudoir according to the dictionary technically means a woman’s bedroom or private room. However, words can shift and evolve, so bear with me here! The alternate title to this post would’ve been “Outdoor Nude Photoshoot in Red River Gorge"", and while I have taken nude photos outdoors, this one doesn’t have any. I’ve been requested to keep those private & will follow through with that promise! Back to the post: something I ca ..read more

A morning in the life | Candid Family Photography in Louisville, Kentucky

When Kate, a client turned friend, reached out to me with an idea to photograph a morning of her day, I was ecstatic to say the least. She’s a stay-at-home mom and wanted to have this busy season of life with her littles captured. These kinds of photos are the ones that mean more & more, the more time passes. The baby grows into a toddler, the toddler a kid — it’s bittersweet to photograph it happening and I can’t even imagine the feelings of having a front-row seat as a parent. The girls started the morning with pancakes and goodbyes to dad. A walk through their Old Louisville neighborhoo ..read more

Last weekend Ali & Tyler got married and celebrated with their friends and family . . . boy, was it beautiful! Tyler and Ali didn’t want to stress about their wedding, but you can tell that they put a lot of thought and intention into it. They really wanted to celebrate with all their loves ones, as it’s probably the only time they’d all be in the same room. Well, in this case, Ali and Tyler’s backyard! (Yes, their backyard is absolutely beautiful as you’ll see below.) They started off getting ready together. Again, they wanted to feel laid back, so we didn’t set up a “first look”, I just ..read more

I had the absolute honor to photograph Robyn & Katie’s wedding celebration last weekend! It was the most crisp, lovely early fall day. Katie and Robyn actually already had their wedding in California earlier this year, but they said it couldn’t be official until their family back in Kentucky got to celebrate too, specifically all the grandparents - which you will see lots of photos of below. :) The couple started off by getting ready together and doing their own makeup - which was not in the original plans, but they went with the flow & it turned out beautifully. We took photos around ..read more

On a windy day in early October, Zach and Taylor got married here in Kentucky in their family’s backyard. It was the sweetest, happiest day & I’m excited to be sharing it with you all here! Zach and Taylor are angels and the people they surround themselves with are pretty great, too. Taylor’s sisters all helped her get ready and they gave the sweetest toasts. I photographed this wedding a few years ago, but I had to share it here. They wrote their own vows, then said them in front of their families. Taylor and Zach did a lot of things untraditionally, they had only their immediate family ..read more

Oh, this one has a special place in my heart! Dani and Shelby have been such dear clients to me over the years. They’re the kind of client that has had me capture multiple big life events and it just gets sweeter and more emotional every time I get to document another big moment for them! Their wedding day was, you guessed it, rescheduled due to covid. When they finally were able to tie the knot here in Louisville, Kentucky in October of 2021, it was such a special day! The autumn day started off rainy, so after getting ready photos at their Airbnb, we headed to a studio to get some photos of ..read more

Hannah & Henry’s day was laid-back, exciting and filled to the brim with joy all at the same time. This wedding was actually from last weekend (shocker! this might be the fastest I’ve ever blogged!) and it was stunning. They each got ready at the same family friend’s property with their own families, Hannah in the main house and Henry in the carriage house. After the ceremony at St Paul in the Highlands, they went back to the property to celebrate and spend time with all their guests. Their friend’s house was right off of River Road here in Louisville and the sunset coming off of the rive ..read more
