John + Renee could probably go on and on about the individual things they love about each other (there are so many) but they both are so thankful to have found the other. Before meeting each other, John + Renee both experienced different types of loneliness and uncertainty about where their lives were heading and what their purposes were. But when they met, it felt like they had known each other their whole lives and somehow they were just waiting to find the other for their real lives to begin. It’s not that their whole lives revolve around the other or that they aren’t complete without the o ..read more

The Conrad Mansion Wedding | Blake + India

India + Blake met in college at Iowa State during their senior year. Their first date was Blake bringing a pizza over to India’s apartment and they stayed up watching movies and talking all night. They always joke that Blake would come over for her air conditioning and India loved him because he always brought her food. But really, they just loved being around each other right away. India knew it was something special because she felt comfortable around him immediately. Early on, Blake told her that he farms in a small town, so if they went anywhere as a couple she would have to move to Garwin ..read more

Winan Creek Barn Wedding | Jarel + Cailey

Jarel has had a crush on Cailey since he was in 6th grade and apparently got turned down by her when he asked her to be his girlfriend. (Cailey doesn’t remember this happening.) Jarel + Cailey really first met when they were in high school. They had made it official back when Cailey was a sophomore and Jarel was a freshman, but like any typical young high school relationship, it didn’t work. They split apart for a year, tried it again, and have been inseparable ever since. Cailey is the one person that since day 1 has been able to make Jarel laugh, and act freely. She lights up a room whenever ..read more

Mark and Meredith were introduced through mutual friends. Later on Mark told Meredith about how he knew the first night he met her that she was the one. He says he isn’t sure the exact moment that he knew, so Meredith likes to think it was her amazing cartwheels. She still can’t believe he called her again after that! On their wedding day Mark + Meredith shared intimate vows, puppy snuggles, sparklers, a small outdoor wedding on their family’s Iowa farmland, and a big party with their friends afterwards to celebrate the beginning of their marriage! The best kind of wedding day with two of the ..read more

Tori + Tony met in junior high and became really good friends right away. However, didn’t start dating until high school. But you know how high school relationships can be, lots of drama, little love. They dated for four years and then broke up in college. The distance was hard and they both had a lot of growing to do apart from one another. Tony + Tori stayed in touch but where both convinced they’d never get back together. To both of their surprise, God had other plans! They both fell in love with Jesus and how deep His love goes for each of themselves as individuals, it was then that same l ..read more

To know Brent + Shae is to love them. I instantly knew they were my kind of people after reading their “about me” on their inquiry form for wedding photos. They’re laid back, sincere, funny and kind. “Hi, We’re Shae & Brent. We met at UNI and are both living and working in the Des Moines Metro. We love our black lab pup, Kota, who has given us a new love and appreciation for the outdoors. Our ‘hangout’ spots are Big Creek State Park, where we hike and Brent takes Kota hunting. We go on walks and runs on trails in Ankeny. We love our tradition of ice cream Sundays. With my family we boat r ..read more

Josiah + Jessica met in college! They just naturally fell into the same friend group and hung out a lot their first year of college! The first week of sophomore year Jessica was helping out with an event at school to help welcome in the freshman. Part of the activity meant Jessica would take a few freshman in her car drive them around to different stations in Ankeny. Before she knew it Josiah offered to go with her and be her navigator! These two spent the whole evening just driving around Ankeny, laughing, with three random freshman they didn’t know. Josiah couldn’t sleep after that night and ..read more

Lifestyle newborn session are some of my favorite sessions. This newborn session for a local Des Moines metro family was even more awesome because it included a side-by-side ride and a trek through the mud to enjoy a peaceful Iowa cabin they built by the river. The most peaceful baby snuggles, Iowa countryside sounds, and the joy of a growing family. The post Iowa countryside newborn session appeared first on lephotodesign.com ..read more
