The Wolfeboro Inn is a popular destination in all seasons, but it’s especially known in the summer months as a beautiful wedding venue on Lake Winnipesaukee. Nestled in the heart of busy Main Street, the Wolfeboro Inn boasts beautiful guest rooms along with a restaurant, the historic Wolfe’s Tavern. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph at least three weddings at the Wolfeboro Inn that I can think of, so it was quite a treat to be asked to photograph their new renovations. Guest Room Renovations at the Wolfeboro Inn Renovations are still ongoing at the time of this post, but the hotel managemen ..read more

It has been a busy and exciting March for me, with three new hotel/restaurant clients. As part of the Hay Creek Hotel Group, these New Hampshire boutique properties have undergone recent renovations and required new photos. I’m thrilled to take on new challenges, to fill in my hotel property portfolio, and of course to add gorgeous new food photos to my restaurant portfolio. One of these boutique hotels is none other than The Centennial Hotel nestled in the heart of downtown Concord NH. The Granite Restaurant My assignment as the photographer was to photograph the beautiful new renovations at ..read more

In 2022, Charlie’s moved into their new space at 1 Pinard Street, taking over the building that was Cote’s Diner. In this much bigger spot, they have continued their domination of the New Hampshire chicken tenders competition. Since Manchester NH was designated the Chicken Tender Capital of the World in 2023, Charlie’s has solidified their rank in the Top 3, which also includes the Puritan Backroom and Goldenrod. #1 Chicken Tenders in New Hampshire as Rated by WMUR Viewers It occurred to me that we haven’t actually gotten food from Charlie’s since they’ve been in their new location, which wou ..read more

A Food Lover’s Tour of Colonia Roma with Sabores Mexico

For my 4th day in Mexico City, I spent my time in Roma Norte, one of the beautiful neighborhoods west of the Centro Historico. Roma and Condesa are both lovely areas because they are quieter than the chaos of the city center, and life has a slower pace enhanced by the leafy shade trees, lack of traffic, and abundance of good restaurants and cafes. It’s a place where morning strolls will reveal joggers and dog walkers managing groups of half a dozen pups out for their morning walkies. It’s also a place where you will encounter lots and lots of fellow Americans. Breakfast at Madre Cafe I took an ..read more

It had been a long time, far too long, since I did one of my international solo trips! So in March 2023 I decided not to go to Europe again. I was inspired by Somebody Feed Phil, which I had been watching a lot of, because he always says, “If you love something, go to the source.” He was of course talking about food. If you love pasta, go to Italy. In my case, if you love tacos, go to Mexico City! There is just absolutely no substitution for great, authentic Mexican food in New Hampshire, so the only thing that was going to satisfy me was to go to Mexico City and eat tacos for a week straight ..read more

A Week at the Hampton Inn Mexico City Centro Histórico

For my trip to Mexico City in March 2023, I chose to stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Centro Histórico. For its central location in the historic district, and also the ability to pay for my entire stay with points, this was a great option for me. Standard King Interior Room For 7 nights in a King Nonsmoking room, I used only 120,000 Hilton Honors points which was 20,000 points per night but with the 5th night free benefit. So paying for 7 nights with only 6 nights’ worth of points felt like a great value. What I didn’t fully understand when booking was the layout of this hotel. The wh ..read more

The Original Shake Shack Location at Madison Square Park

I took a quick trip to New York in April for a concert, and one of the first things I did was to go eat at Shake Shack at Madison Square Park. This is the original and first Shake Shack, and it was such a thrill to make the pilgrimage to this location. It’s no longer a hot dog cart, but it’s still the OG! It was unusually hot that day in mid-April, with temperatures topping out near 85 or 90. While New Hampshire was still gray and gloomy, New York was budding with flowers and leaves! It was so exciting to see some early spring color for these tired eyes. While in midtown Manhattan, I felt li ..read more

Exploring Mexico City after Dark with Club Tengo Hambre

One of my favorite food tours that I took in Mexico City was with Club Tengo Hambre with the wonderful guide Fernanda. This was because it was all about nighttime street food! Mostly this means TACOS but there were also a couple of other things including a churro relleno and a stop at a classic CDMX cantina. Aptly named “Mexico City After Dark,” this tour picked up in Centro Histórico which was great for me because it was near where I was staying. This tour had it all! With 5 different kinds of street tacos, old-school taqueros, a classic Mexican cantina, cerveza y tequila, and a walk past som ..read more

As of December 2023, Weeks Pizza is Goffstown’s newest restaurant. Located in the heart of Goffstown Village, Weeks Pizza has replaced Ray Street Pizza which was there for a few years. They offer a very similar menu to Ray’s which is pizza (with an updated recipe), subs, salads, and some appetizers. We tried out Weeks Pizza after they had been open for less than 10 days. We ordered 2 subs, a small pizza, and an order of onion rings just to sample a few different menu items. Two Things We Loved The 2 best items we tried: Pepperoni Pizza and Chicken Bacon Ranch Sub A couple of the things we rea ..read more

My little town has three Chinese food restaurants, and one of them is China Gourmet in Goffstown village. Nestled between Weeks Pizza, and the Village Trestle, this sparkling clean little Chinese food restaurant serves up some wonderful Chinese-American dishes.
