Why Hammer Nutrition?

As a recreational rider and Hard Enduro racer, nutrition on and off the bike is super important to fueling my rides and workouts. This year I changed up my routine, using Hammer Nutrition Hammer Gel and Extreme Endurolytes. Typically I depend on my nutrition off the bike to fuel shorter rides but when I’m out for half a day or longer, I need to supplement. Keeping my snacks light is important when I’m already carrying tools, 3 liters of water, first aid kit, spare parts, water filter, etc on my back. Personally I prefer to have a variety of options on a long day. Sticking with solely gels, blo ..read more

Well, sort of! They come in the form of paid employees and volunteers who are constantly working to maintain our public trails. Read on to learn more… Do you know why you need a OHV Sticker to ride on public lands in each state? Each state with an ATV Grant Program provides funding statewide for off-highway vehicle (OHV) recreation. In Oregon, grant funds come from ATV user permit sales and a percentage of gasoline tax money.  So how does each recreational riding area get ahold of these funds and what are they used for? Check out the following information about the grant funds, how they a ..read more

Photo: Mary Rinell @mjsmotophotos One hundred thirty women from around the western United States gathered in southwestern Oregon to ride dirt bikes and hang with new and old #fastfriends on the weekend of May 13-15th, 2022. That's pretty dang cool! The Motorcycle Riders Association (M.R.A.) closed their 1200 acres of private property to allow Dirtastic attendees to take over for the weekend, which we did in style. Between camping in the woods, the giant bonfire and added Dirtastic flair, Lily Prairie OHV on Johns Peak in Jacksonville, Oregon has never looked so good (or at least this is what ..read more

@mjsmotophotos What a year 2021 was for Dirtastic! We successfully hosted 18 Events in 5 states, working with approximately 250 riders who travelled from 16 different states across the US (and one all the way from the UK)!  @gabedilla The season was bookended with three Southern California events, one early season in Barstow and two at the end of the season in Johnson Valley! Being in Southern California helped us reach a new group of riders, specifically desert riders we may not have reached otherwise. Heading into early spring we kicked off with two events in Roseburg, Oregon (Fundame ..read more

So, you’re a last minute shopper?! Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with some great ways to surprise someone this holiday season! In my family we are known to find great gifts for each other but most of the time we make the purchase a bit too late to have them wrapped for the holidays. What do we do? Send the image of the gift to a printer and wrap that up! It’s not quite the same, but really throws people off when they shake the featherweight box to find something hefty inside! So here it goes, a list of must have items for any off road rider! For quick and easy, one-stop-shop head on over ..read more

Acerbis isn't only about the plastics... They offer so much more!

In the past, I would think of Acerbis for body plastics on my dirt bike and track markers at a motocross track. Did you know that Acerbis makes a wide variety of dirt bike products beyond plastics? As a woods rider, I am always looking for ways to improve my bike for my needs. I run a headlight, hand guards and depending on the time of year, an oversized tank. I have chosen to use Acerbis for all of these products (in addition to body plastics) and found them not only to be good, they are great! Headlight If you ride a woods bike then you know that the stock head lights are similar to using a ..read more

Written and reviewed by Kalyn Benaroya Wishing you could make that after work ride but there isn’t enough daylight? The days are getting shorter as we approach the middle of winter, but in a lot of places the dirt is prime! That sounds like an easy problem to solve! Oxbow Gear makes night riding doable with their affordable light set up! There are a few options to choose from and I chose to go with the Voyager Dirt Bike Helmet Light. Weighing just over 2 ounces, you won’t even know that you have a light attached to your helmet! The battery pack is also smaller than others I’ve seen and have ..read more

Written by Dirtastic Coach Reagan Potts The longstanding battle between two strokes and four strokes has always been an afterthought to me until I got my Husqvarna Motorcycles FX 350 a year ago. While I wasn’t necessarily in the market for a new bike, getting this bike might be the best decision I have ever made. From the smooth power release to the handling capabilities, it has easily become my favorite bike to race.  The FX 350 is Husky’s cross-country classified model with several specific components including an 18 – inch rear wheel, kickstand, and six – speed transmission. It is ..read more
