Eastern turkey with unique chest feathers?

Northern IL bird. Taxidermist says the breast feathers are unique and he hasn't seen many like this. I thought he called them clipped/barbed feathers? Can someone explain what is different than another bird? I think the black tips are showing up more on this bird then typical, but not exactly sure what he is referring to. Thanks ..read more

If I have to quarter an animal and pack it out instead of drag/hang/skin, what is your preferred way for someone to cut the hide for shoulder mount? I always imagined a cut from skull plate down the spine to about mid body where I would cut all the way around and skin the animal forward to the neck base from there would make sense but want to see what the taxidermists here think ..read more
