I'm not too familiar with taxidermy or anything in those regards so I apologize for any ignorance. I was gifted an elephant's foot planter/umbrella stand by a friend (see image) a while ago. I want to sell it, as I have no need for it and want to declutter. My only issue is that I am not aware of the legality of selling this as it is a real elephants foot. If I am legally allowed to sell it, how much could I sell it for and where? Any advice would be greatly appreciated ..read more

Hey, just joined and wanted to share first mount this season, second ever. Let me know what you guys think. I wanted to ask for some advice on getting the eyes to stay in place. The clay I am using to form the eyelids just popped out when I was mounting the head. Also, any tips for stitching up the main opening? I am having a hard time making it disappear. I successfully stitched up the tears and shot holes from the inside, but sewing through the feathers is really hard ..read more

Is there a company/website where I can purchase a whitetail buck cape? I have a friend that will teaching my son and I how to mount a deer head. Unfortunately, the hair is slipping on the snout bad from the cape I put in my freezer from archery season. I only saved it so I’d have something to learn on, so the cape is nothing special where I would want to try to use it ..read more

Shot this late October mallard on one of the coldest hunts I've been on back in 2021. Canoe pushed through ice on way out to set up. Started blizzarding mid way through the hunt. A 2 hour drive home turned into a 4 hour crawl in whiteout conditions. But I got the nicest mallard I've ever seen in Northern Alberta. And it's sat in freezer ever since. The taxidermists curse.. you feel guilty working on your own birds even on a day off. Realized it was coming up on 2 years recently and took... Read more ..read more
