A refreshing escape into the Vineyards at Villa Evinoi

When you come to find Athens, find the Acropolis. Find Lycabettus. Find the Agora. But if you come to find history, check-in to the Villa Evinoi. Arriving here, feels like getting off Helios’ chariot, 2,000 years ago, draped in modern luxury. You smell the wheat, the Olive groves, and the earth, just the way it must have been, when Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates lived here, commanding their audiences, and bringing light to this world, with their minds. This place is magic, surrounded by its vineyards, and only 20 min from the center of Athens, you can just relax, empty your mind and feel clos ..read more

Santorini, the queen of the Aegean Sea

Here are our recommendations on what do do while your are on the beautiful island. We were lucky to spend a month in Santorini, a bit off season (in May) while the world was in a global pandemic! We literally had the island for ourselves to explore, when usually the famous Agean Island is fully packed. We’ve heard stories of people who went there during the high season, saying that it was almost impossible to not walk on other people feet and that you had to wait in lines to go to some restaurants! When we left the island, tourists started to arrive and we could definitely feel that the vibe w ..read more

Three girls & an island on fire

Out of the blue, our friend Monika decided she would go to the Big Island for two weeks in May. And on a whim, Valerie and I decided to follow her. It was the perfect destination for all of us to meet, right in the middle of the world: 10 hours to West and South from Montreal for them, 10 hours to the North and East from New Zealand for me. After three more airports, 7 airline meals, four movies, and just maybe, a little bit of sleeping noises, I would find myself in the middle of the Pacific, with some of my closest friends,in the most isolated islands in the world, Hawaii. … Click on this l ..read more

Top 10 Things to do on the Big Island, Hawaii

The Big Island is beautiful and there is a lot to do in Hawaii. It has everything you expect of a tropical island; and all that is desired by so many heading to the Tropics. Islands in these warmer latitudes seem to slow down time, wherever you are – and that is just what we were after. Time. But it may not be for everyone. We arrived in a uniquely exciting time, given all the volcanic energy here – with helicopters and media on site, taking up hotel rooms, and rental cars. But we were in no rush, and had the luxury to take the time to find our feet, and to drive through the scenery slowly, on ..read more

If you have a layover or only a few days in the Malaysian capital, here is some recommandations for things to do in Kuala Lumpur. 1. Petronas tower If you’ve seen the movie Entrapment (1999) with Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones, you’ll probably recognize the Petronas Towers. These tours are undoubtedly a must in the city of Kuala Lumpur. 88 storeys and 375 meters high, the twin towers were one of the tallest buildings in the world; after 2001, they became the tallest twin-towers in the world. Today engineers and building owners have gone far beyond 375 meters (the number one is the Burj ..read more

Living the coconut lifestyle in Musket cove resort, Fiji

Fiji appears on the Bucket List of most honeymoon couples. For Robert and I, this is an extra special place. As we approach the white sandy beaches of the island chain on which Musket Cove calls home – I see my boyfriend change. He calls this place his spiritual home, and you can see it in his face. The white sand, the blue water and the fresh air transform us from a traveling couple to excited human beings feeling free of the rest of the world and grateful that our lives bring us to places like these. Places where the water glows and time stand still, with warm air and an ocean breeze that br ..read more

The old Montreal – A dive in the core of Quebec history.

Walking around the part of this city, known as ‘Old Montreal’ is like diving right into the core of Quebec’s storied history. In 2017, Montreal turned 375 years old. 1642 is, in context, 18 years after New York was named New York, 315 years before the arrival of Poutine to Quebec, 293 years before the greatest ever Canadian invention, the WonderBra; and 294 years before Basketball, invented in Canada too. (Oops, did I forget Justin Bieber and Blackberry? My Bad!). With that in context, and all the snow in this place at this time of year, I often to imagine how it must have been at the very beg ..read more

The perfect escape – Away spa, W Montreal Hotel

Every year, a girl is lucky enough to have a birthday. This week was my birthday, and I decided to go to Montreal to celebrate it with the people I love. I’ve been away a lot this year, and I needed some quality time with my girls, and there’s no place like home. It is incredibly special to me that, despite the time I spend away from Montreal due to my travels, the relationships I have with my friends and my family are untouched by time and by distance. My “bff” suggested we catch up on the many topics we need to cover at a spa, and spend some quality time together, making up for lost time. Wh ..read more

I dedicate this message to all the women in the world who have been a part of my life. To my best friend who is now a mother and who is completing her thesis, on a small island near Boston, to my mother in Spain, to my bff who is working incredibly hard to open her beauty salon soon, to my cousin who works in the trucks of the city of Montreal, to my friend flight attendent, to my Chilean grandmother, to my other friend working in the army in the North Pole, to my aunt, my mother-in-law…. A trip by train in the mountains, USA

In order to travel across countries or between cities, we usually take a plane. But sometimes, we go by ship or train. There is something very romantic about rail’s slow passing landscapes, as opposed to the speed and altitude of airliners (and the wait at the airport, to pass the security, the customs, to take a seat, to store your hand luggage, etc …). For me there is even some fantasy in rail travel, where I like to imagine that I am being transported to a universe worthy of a Harry Potter movie (yes, I’m a Potter-head!), in another time, or place. I have always loved trains. – Walt Disney ..read more
