We took some family photos when Jax was around 15 months. While I LOVE the ones in the woods/grass fields… the ones that mean the most to me are the ones in our front yard, in our home, and playing with our animals. The portraits are so so beautiful, but when I look at simple photos like me taking Jax shoes off or laughing together while feeding him or playing at his water table – I feel all the feels. Those photos are the ones that will remind me in 10 years what life looked like these days. Sitting on the bottom step, taking his shoes off/putting them on, asking him to put them away, asking ..read more

We had the best time with Tori + Will. They are just the cutest and total naturals in front of the camera… from the Humboldt Park Boathouse (we even did the swan paddleboat) to the Taste Freeze in Logan Square, Tori and Will made the session all their own and brought their own flare. Tanvi + Shilpen are my kind of people. They wanted their engagement session to reflect who they were… and that involves pizza and ice cream! So we started our session at Happy Camper and Jeni’s Ice Cream in Old Town before heading to the lakefront to capture the Chicago skyline. They’re getting married here in Chicago, but they live in Boston so they wanted to capture some iconic Chicago (on top of their favorite foods). Give me a couple that loves food and can laugh together and we’ll create one epic engagement session that is full of personality and fun ..read more

Emily is also an extremely talented interior designer – which you’ll be able to see in how amazing their home is. Here’s some of our favorites from their home design ..read more

Maternity Photos are so special to capture. It’s a beautiful time in a mother’s life… one that passes quickly and also feels like an eternity at the same time. It’s a time that I will always look back at fondly, a time that my son lived within my body… how wild is that?!? I think it’s always worth capturing a few photos – it’s something that should be celebrated, and let’s be honest – moms don’t get enough credit for carrying babies and putting up with all the things our bodies go through during pregnancy. ANYWAY – here is a gorgeous mama that I photographed in Oak Park… I love how these turne ..read more
