National Eucharistic Revival Program
The gospel passage of St. Luke, chapter 22, 1 takes us back to an intimate moment between Jesus and his disciples gathered for the Jewish Passover, that same night of his arrest and arraignment before the authorities. Unlike other events recorded in the gospels, this scene provides the Church with an unavoidable sign of Jesus’ sacrifice that he begged us to frequent in memory of Him and what he was about to undergo for the salvation of the human race. The scene is profoundly human and full of pathos. The disciples must have been transfixed in wide ..read more

How Catholic men can make a direct impact on our present generation.
Admit your weaknesses and limitations, while finding strength in faith and genuine love to overcome your sins and faults.
Men need confession regularly. Also, ask your wife and children for forgiveness when you fail them.
Learn what being a real man is all about, study and live-out the Virtues of a Catholic Man.
Be leery of the demonic influences which destroys men and their homes.
Be strong, without putting on a mask of false strength. Persevere and don’t quit.
Focus on the right goal, live as a beloved son of God, and be ..read more

God designed men to be natural leaders.
I was reminded of this picture from my photo archives, because I think it sends an important message. We need to have pictures like this as examples to carry through the generations. Because the importance of this is taken for granted.
Here's why ...
I went to a parade with my family. Next to us was a little girl who wanted her dad to lift her up onto his shoulders. But dad refused, several times. The girl looked crushed, as did her mom. You might think because she didn’t get what she waned, but what I saw in her eyes was she wanted her D ..read more

How using your Light can show someone the way to Jesus
Note: This blog entry is a revision from this post in the 2020 CMCS archive.
I was drawn to this moment of an American Flag mounted on a tree with blooming flowers below it, in the country morning sunlight, because it reminds me of how the Flag is a symbol of “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”, a well-known phrase in the United States Declaration of Independence.
The phrase gives three examples of the “unalienable rights” which the Declaration says have been given to all human beings by their Creator, and which ..read more

We aim to help you find your WHY and live it.
From time to time, and after our events, I receive a message from one or another of our readers or attendees thanking us for The CMCSmen Blog or our Bishop's Men's Forum , but wondering why we chose such a name for this apostolate. And now, it seems a good time to explain, yet again, how and why we decided to step out into the world of Catholic men's ministry and online commentary under this acronym: CMCS
To begin with, you can thank all the movements before us: The Knights of Columbus, The Knights of Peter Clavier, The Great Lakes Men’s Confere ..read more

Why it's important to engage with other Catholic men.
While driving home from the recent Bishop’s Men’s Forum I found myself, once again, reflecting on the importance of men in community: The sharing of ideas that we experienced; the connecting the dots on our spiritual journeys; the Q and A; and breaking bread together. And, as I talk with men afterwards, all of this has a positive effect on the other communities in our lives, as well as our families.
For example, Genesis 48:15 shows how blessings are spoken by Fathers. We shape the image of our wife by what and how we speak to her. D ..read more
