I recently attended a blogger event at Lexington Bartending School. We tried a few concoctions, and learned about the school. I posted a reel about the event on my Instagram, but I wanted to do a full post here as well. Plus, I love the pictures for this event, and wanted to share those as well as the videos (and all the yummy cocktail details). We tasted some surprising cocktails that were impressive and delightful, and gained some knowledge about cocktail making. First, let’s talk a little about the school. They tech bartending basics, preparing bartenders for employment. Their bartending co ..read more

Galentine’s Day at The Amsden

Galentine’s Day at The Amsden is my favorite Galentine’s Day tradition. I’ve attended every year since they started hosting this event, and it’s always so much fun. This year, a few other local businesses in downtown Versailles also participated in some of the activities, so I’ll include those also. I met up with a couple of my blogger friends to celebrate, and we wandered around downtown exploring some of the local spots. If you want to check out my posts from previous years, the links are at the bottom of this post. If you want to check out my outfit details from the event, they’re linked he ..read more

January Outfits

January is officially over, and I really tried to put some effort in last month. I know it’s a little cliche to get motivated and start the year out trying hard, but here we are. I really wanted to have fun with the month and challenge myself, and styling some cute outfits was one of those challenges. I’m just going to share photos here, but if you want outfit details (and links), I’ve tried to keep my LTK updated throughout the month, and as many pieces as possible are linked there (click here to check that out) – along with some beauty products I’ve also been loving. I feel like I’ve really ..read more

Happy 2024! I’m a little late on this post, but it has already been a busy year. I wanted to share some pictures from my New Year’s Eve, and just talk a little about 2024 and my plans for the year. I had a blast on New Year’s Eve. I spent it at The Grove (one of my favorite spots in Lexington), with some of my blogger friends, and it was so lovely. 2023 was a rough year. I had Covid for a second time, we had a couple of holidays later than usual, I only took one trip (???????????), and just struggled with quite a bit mentally. I’m hoping for a more positive outcome in 2024. I DID attend the Er ..read more

Ouita Michel is an award-winning chef. She owns and runs several local restaurants in the Lexington area (collectively called Holly Hill), and all are unique and interesting. I’ve been on a few Bites of the Bluegrass tours (check out this post to see my experience with the Bites of the Bluegrass Danville tour), and I recently had the pleasure of attending a tour of locations in the Midway and Versailles areas in Kentucky, sampling some Ouita Michel creations – The Just A Few Miles South Culinary Tour. Bites of the Bluegrass is one of my favorite experiences in Lexington. It’s fun, interesting ..read more

Pickle Beer Rankings

Happy National Pickle Day! November 14 is National Pickle Day, and my little pickle loving heart couldn’t be happier. One pickly think I’ve found that I love is pickle beer. Pickle beer isn’t everyone’s taste. Some people love pickles, some people hate them, and some people are in between. I’m a self-proclaimed pickle queen (check out this post to see the Pickle Festival I attended last year), and absolutely adore pickles. I’ve tried several pickle beers, and will taste every one I can find. I wanted to do a little ongoing ranking that I can update with all the pickle beers I try, so here are ..read more

This post is Sponsored by Wendy’s®. I’m not usually a big breakfast girl, but sometimes I need a little something to get me through themorning. Wendy’s® breakfast is perfect for me to pick up on my way into work. You can orderahead through the Wendy’s app so it’s ready when you get there, it’s easy to eat at my desk, and they use fresh products, such as fresh-cracked Grade A eggs, juicy chicken breast, andapplewood smoked bacon. I tried a few items from their menu (and spoiled my coworkers with a few others). The Bacon,Egg, and Cheese Biscuit was delicious, and definitely my favorite item I tri ..read more

Apple Picking at Eckert’s Orchard

It’s apple season at Eckert’s Orchard, and I headed out over the weekend for some picking. They rotate through a variety of apples throughout the season, and you can pick whatever amount you want. I picked a full bag. I love snacking on apples, but they’re also great in pies. I love baking them in the air fryer for a sweet, yummy side dish that’s so easy. I’m always on the hunt for new recipes to try, so if you have any good ones to share, please let me know in the comments! Green apples are always my favorite. I like them a little tart, with just a small bite to them. Sweet apples are great t ..read more

I recently took a trip to Red River Gorge in Slade, Kentucky, and thought I’d share my experience. We stayed at a cute little cabin, ate some delicious food, had some great drinks, and explored a little bit of Kentucky, over the span of a couple of days. I’d only been to Red River Gorge once, to hike for my bestie’s birthday (check out my Hiking in Kentucky post to see details of my hiking adventures from the past few years), and the end result was gorgeous. I was excited to check out more of the area, and check out some local businesses near The Gorge. The Cabin [The cabin was gifted to us fo ..read more

The Grove – Lexington, KY

The Grove is a new-ish spot in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. It is an overall umbrella location that hosts several local businesses. The space is absolutely gorgeous, and I’ve been a few times since they opened. I wanted to share a little about this cute little area that I’ve come to really love. Full disclosure – they did invite me to be an ambassador for the business, but this post is not sponsored in any way, and all opinions are my own. Nate’s Hideaway Nate’s Coffee has been around in Lexington for a while, and I’m so glad they have a spot at The Grove. They have my favorite White Mocha I ..read more
