It’s been six wonderful months of marriage since October 2nd, and I am finally done hoarding our beautiful memories to myself. Up next in the series to share our talented vendors, allow me to introduce you to Jesse Warren and Tyler Wylie from SkyMyles Entertainment. Our Wedding Details + Paper Goods: For Your Party
Space, Place & Southern Grace
by Sarah Caton

If I could relive our wedding day over and over, I undoubtedly would. Want to join me on that nostalgic journey? Today, I have the privilege of introducing you to one of our very special vendors, For Your Party. Early on in planning, I vowed to keep as much of our wedding as possible supported by either local, women- or minority-owned businesses. For Your Party met that goal as they are a small, Chicago-based business that is woman-owned! I’ve never really cared much about some of the smaller details of weddings like linens or napkins, but I came to realize some of the most photographed elemen ..read more

Thank you to Pioneer for sponsoring this post. Thank you for supporting the brands that make Space, Place & Southern Grace possible! 2020 came and went in the blink of an eye – am I right? This year has been full of so many surprises and challenges, but I’ve honestly been grateful for so much time at home and a slower pace of life. I’ve done a lot of home cooking this year, and had the chance to level up my skills and to get more creative with new dishes. Since Winter arrived, I’ve been in the mood for nothing but hearty, southern comfort food. Thanks to Pioneer, I’m trying out a number of ..read more

A Very 21c Thanksgiving at Home
Space, Place & Southern Grace

If you’ve been around here for a bit, you know my affinity for the 21c Museum Hotels. The Lexington location has an incredible restaurant called Lockbox that features deliciously elevated comfort food. 21c is very special to my family; we stayed there and ate at Lockbox the night before and after our wedding! Since things have been a bit different this year as a result of COVID-19, 21c Lexington and Lockbox are switching up their plans to serve you Thanksgiving dinner the way that suits you best. If you’re cooking at home like us, give Lockbox’s Head Chef, Cody DeRosett’s turkey brine and grav ..read more

A Honeymoon Retreat at Woodhouse Day Spa
Space, Place & Southern Grace

Thanks to COVID-19, we didn’t get to take the honeymoon of our dreams following our intimate wedding day. While there is plenty of time for vacations in the future, when things are safer, Alan and I made a commitment to relaxation and fun in the days following our wedding. After a short stay at one of our staples, 21c Lexington, we moved down to The Summit at Fritz Farm to another local favorite for a few days at Origin Hotel Lexington. We stayed in the Premiere Suite that overlooks all of The Summit vendors, and it was a truly special escape to treat ourselves close to home. The Woodhouse Exp ..read more

I’m back and MARRIED! Can you believe it finally happened? It has been a long road to the end of our short little aisle, but I am so remarkably grateful we powered through with adapted plans. Our day was much smaller than initially planned, but felt just as grand despite the reduced scale. Over the next several weeks, I have the privilege of introducing to you a number of vendors we worked closely with through many changed plans to get to October 2, 2020: the most magical day ever. First up, meet Ryan Worthen of Reel Special. Ryan and I were first introduced in the context of influencer marke ..read more

We’re Getting Married, For Real This Time
Space, Place & Southern Grace

You heard it here. We’re finally doing the dang thing. In June, we called off our September wedding in response to COVID-19. Read more about the experience leading up to that decision here. Too many people we love would have to make too many difficult decisions to attend a big event. Nothing has felt right since March about planning a large wedding during a pandemic. It was obviously not in the cards for us in 2020. At the time we called off our would-be Derby Day wedding, we thought we would postpone to the same month the following year. We found out not too long after that our original weddi ..read more

Thank you to Maker’s Mark for sponsoring this post and to you for supporting all the brands that make Space, Place & Southern Grace possible! Please drink responsibly. What a wild year, am I right? Early in 2020, we got the news that the horse race of the year would be postponed to Fall. Coincidentally, the postponed date was our wedding day. Before we made the decision to postpone, we decided to lean hard into the theme and were even envisioning watching the races on screens in our reception with all our friends and family. While I’m not the best at betting, I have always really enjoye ..read more

Thank you to Harrah’s Gulf Coast for hosting us for this stay, and thank you to you for supporting the brands that make Space, Place & Southern Grace possible! Let’s just clear the air here. Traveling this year is challenging. More, it’s an immense privilege. After the cancellation of our wedding in response to COVID-19, I knew Alan and I needed to do something to celebrate us in a time where nothing felt in our control. We cautiously planned our summer vacation in ways unfamiliar to us – including fewer stops and a lot more hand sanitizer – and had a wonderful week together to relax, refl ..read more
