It's pretty much expected that any language, natural or not, that spreads wide enough would start to diverge and create variations. Sometimes that happens even without spreading to a very large number of speakers or geographical area. But given the stated objective of Esperanto or similar languages (of being a universal language that would bring disparate cultures together and make people understand each other, etc) does it in any way creates a culture that diminishes that tendency? What are the differences between lexis, lexicon, vocabulary?

Google yielded two answers.  But Logan R. Kearsley, MA in Linguistics from BYU is too recondite. Can you please simplify this to the level of a 16 y.o.? What does "analytical level of a language that deals with vocabulary" mean?  A lexicon is a set or inventory of all the lexemes in a language. (What counts as a lexeme is a whole other question all on it's own!) Lexis is the analytical level of a language that deals with vocabulary (as opposed to morphology or syntax).
