Julie Benau: The Wine Goddess of the Languedoc Julie Benau, aka the wine goddess of the Languedoc, is making some seriously cool wines in the south of France. We have long loved all the exciting things happening in Languedoc – the necessity of reclaiming a unique identity and experimentation lead to fun wines! Though it was amongst the first areas of France to be winemaking, the area has long been known for volume production and cooperatives. Founded in 2013, they only very recently started exporting to Alberta, and we should consider ourselves lucky for our proximity. Founder and owner Josh Michnik’s obsessive attention to detail is present in all facets of the company – from ..read more

In Montefiascone, the wine was apparently so good that the scout marked “Est! Est!! Est!!!” above the local inn’s door, and the wine was thereafter dubbed as such. Despite the historic fame of the Lazio reg ..read more
