The Screaming Eagle Story:
World-renowned as one of the rarest, most prestigious and expensive wines. Screaming Eagle is legendary.
Jean Phillips, a former real estate agent, bought the 57 acres vineyard in 1986. She planted a mix of varieties, most of which was sold to various Napa wineries. With all white varieties but for 1-acre and approximately 80 vines of Cabernet Sauvignon, Philips sought the opinions of wine industry friends on the commercial potential of her estate. She then before hired Richard Peterson as a consultant. Subsequently she met Peterson’s daughter, Heidi Pete ..read more

It’s a wine-preservation system that uses smart technology to access the wine in the bottle while also keeping the oxygen from hitting it. Drink any wine, any time, without ever pulling the cork. Hosting a party and everyone wants to drink something different? With your Coravin, you can give everyone a taste of what they want without actually opening all of the bottles.
How to use it
The Coravin uses a tiny needle to puncture through the cork to access the wine without causing any cork damage. While pouring, Argon gas (an inert gas that is already used in the winemaking process) is r ..read more

The Château d’Yquem Story
A Superior First Growth wine produced in the Sauternes appellation of France. Chateau d’Yquem is the world’s most famous sweet wine and the best according to many. A must-have addition to any wine cellar.
Château d’Yquem has a very long life span: twenty, fifty, a hundred years, or more and develops a host of deliciously subtle aromas and flavours. It’s colour changes over the years from shimmering straw yellow to golden-brown with amber and caramel highlights, and then to mahogany.
Certain connoisseurs consider it outrageous to drink a young Yquem and believe that op ..read more

New in our Collector’s Library, two wines from Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars.
Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, notably known for being the California winery that won the Cabernet Sauvignon competition in the 1976 Judgment of Paris, was founded in 1970, and is considered a Napa Valley first-growth estate.
Stag’s Leap Wine Cellar is not to be confused with the nearby producer, Stags’ Leap Winery. The two came to legal blows in the 1980s over the Stag’s Leap title, but an agreement was reached over the careful placement of the apostrophe.
