It was just one of the precincts meeting throughout the state. We spoke with supporters of Ambassador Nikki Haley, Gov. Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump who explained why they were speaking at the caucus on behalf of their chosen candidates. "Support Our Schools Nebraska" has gotten enough signatures to put LB 753 on the ballot for voters to decide on a possible repeal. 3 News Now verified with the secretary of state's office which says the next step will be for the state attorney general's office to create the language for the 2024 ballot measure. LB 753 was passed by state lawmakers this session. It allows people to donate to private school scholarship funds and receive a tax credit. Nebraska's U.S. representatives Mike Flood and Don Bacon, along with Iowa's Randy Feenstra voted in favor of keeping Kevin McCarthy as the Speaker of the House. McCarthy, though, was removed from the speaker position by a vote of 216 to 210. Dozens of students at Northwest High School walked out on Friday to protest LB 574. Students waved signs and gave speeches opposing the new abortion and gender-affirming care restrictions in front of the school.
