From late April to early December, the Central California population of Humpback whales are known to migrate from their winter mating and calving waters off Mexico to their summer and fall feeding areas to the west of Central California.  This puts them in reach of the Monterey Submarine Canyon, within which nutrient and wildlife-rich kelp forests sway with the tides and provide abundant feeding grounds for the marine mammals.  Many marine research companies offer tours of Monterey Bay to the public.  This morning an on-shore breeze brought ocean fog over SF.  This typist rolled out of bed to close out the month of July with a nice little ride. Hopped up to Twin Peaks first; the wind was pretty light. Access to fresh produce is part of food security and buying produce from local farmers supports California growers.  Farmers markets are held in many locations across San Francisco and on different days of the week.  On Sundays, farmers ply their produce on Clement St. between Arguello and 3rd Ave from 9:00AM - 2:00PM.
