Where did the time go.
We are in March.
We had a mild winter with not a lot
of snow and only a few storms.
A walk in the woods,
so peaceful in nature.

I want to wish everyone
a Happy New Year.
Wishing you all good health,
joy and peace.
I had a quiet Christmas
My sister, Annie and I
stayed home.
We had planned to visit family in the
Eastern Townships and Montreal.
But due to my sister Carol and her
husband in the Townships,
coming down the Covid and
my son-in-law, Martin in Montreal,
having an aneurysm on his brain,
and needed time to recover,
we decided to stay home.
Martin is recovering fine.
For the second year in a row,
we had a green Christmas.
We walked on the beach&nb ..read more

The month of August has come to an end.

We’ve had a lot of rain.
On the plus side we didn't have

We have a late Spring this year with
heavy snowfalls in March.
We are anxious for it to melt and
see some green grass and flowers.
My sister Annie and I have
been visiting the beaches
taking advantage before
the tourists arrive.
Walking along the shore,
listening to the waves and
hunting for seaglass and other treasures.
Today we visited Grandmas Beach.
My Grandma has been gone
many many years and
we have a lot of memories
playing there as kids.
So for us it will always be
Grandmas Beach.

We had a green Christmas this year.
On the 5th. of January we decided to
go for a walk to the beach,
before Winter storms would
prevent us to do that.
We had a sunny day with clear blue skies
We dressed very warm
The temperature was
-5degrees Celsius
(23 Fahrenheit)
The hardest was taking
off you gloves to take a pic.
My hands got cold very fast.
My sister Annie.
We walked towards the frozen waterfalls.
We didn't get too close
because of falling rocks and ice.

As we get older,
each year passes faster.
My daughter and her family
visited for Christmas.
They had planned on skiing
but we didn't have enough snow.
We had a green Christmas.
I planned to carry out the
Christmas Pickle Tradition,
(a glass pickle hidden on the Christmas
tree and Christmas morning whoever
finds it receives a gift and
goodwill for the New Year).
This year, I planned it
in the different way.
The kids are now teenagers.
So I decided to make it more
of a challenge and hide the pickle
on a tree outside ..read more

November started with my
Christmas Cactus in bloom.
Then on the 5th
We had our first snow.
A magical transformation to see
the property change from brown to white,
from dull to bright.
I did some decorations outside.
Used some pine,cedar,
spruce and red alders from the woods.

The Barberry bush with
lots of berries.
This bush is near my living room
window and Robins enjoyed the berries.

during the Winter.

there’s food around.

I planted a Sunflower Garden this year
and was surprised how easy
and beautiful it grew.
I decided to harvest some seeds
for bird food in the winter.
Sunflowers don't need rich
soil and are low maintenance.
They were fun to photograph.
Great Polinators
Bees and other insect
enjoyed them.
When the heads start to droop,
it's time to harvest.
Brush of the top layer and
the seeds are easy to take out.
Seeds.
Lots of seeds

and let them dry&nbs ..read more
