Hundreds of college students across the U.S. spent the weekend camped out on campuses protesting the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Police at several universities moved in to clear the encampments, arresting dozens of protesters, with many universities focusing largely on removing non-students.
Washington University announced on Saturday that they arrested 100 individuals, all of whom are now facing charges of trespassing, with some also facing charges of resisting arrest and assault, particularly concerning injuries inflicted upon three police officers. South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem a potential running mate for presumptive Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is getting attention again. This time, it's for a new book where she writes about killing an unruly dog, and a smelly goat, too.
The Guardian obtained a copy of Noem's soon-to-be released book, No Going Back: The Truth on Whats Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward. In it, she tells the story of the ill-fated Cricket, a 14-month-old wirehaired pointer she was training for pheasant hunting.

President Joe Biden said Friday that he is willing to debate his presumptive Republican opponent, Donald Trump, later this fall his most definitive comment yet on the issue.
The comment came during an interview with the Sirius XM radio host Howard Stern, who asked President Biden whether he would participate in debates against Trump.

President Joe Biden said he will debate former President Donald Trump ahead of this years election, the clearest declaration yet of his willingness to face-off with his Republican rival before voters cast ballots in November.

First Lady Dr. Jill Biden made a trip to Grand Rapids on Friday and, despite a raspy voice, she still attended an event honoring the role she currently holds.
Dr. Biden is the first sitting First Lady to attend the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation's First Lady Luncheon in Grand Rapids. But, despite being named the keynote speaker, Dr. Biden had to sit on stage quietly for much of the event.

Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to return to Michigan next week for a campaign stop.
His campaign announced that he will be at Avflight Saginaw near Freeland on May 1. It's his third stop in Michigan this election year; he visited in February and earlier this month.
The visit was announced as Trump's hush money trial is happening in New York. The trip is on a Wednesday, which is typically an off-day for the trial.
The campaign rally is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. and doors open at 2 p.m.

Some teachers in Tennessee could soon be allowed to carry guns inside public school grounds.
Despite strong opposition from parents, educators, and some lawmakers who argue it would not deter school shootings and could instead result in additional injuries, the state's legislature passed a bill Tuesday that would allow teachers and staff with permits to carry concealed handguns while at school without having to let parents know they are armed.

A proposed repeal of Arizona's near-total ban on abortions has won approval from the state House, clearing its first hurdle two weeks after a court concluded the state can enforce the 1864 law, which only offers an exception for saving the patient's life.

The Biden administration released new rules on Wednesday requiring airlines to provide cash refunds in lieu of vouchers in certain situations.
The Department of Transportation said U.S. airlines will be required to issue refunds when they cancel or significantly change flights, significantly delay checked bags, or fail to provide promised extra services.
The new rules stipulate that U.S. airlines must offer a cash refund when a domestic flight is more than three hours off schedule or when an international flight is six hours behind.
