The County of Maui announced property tax rates for the upcoming 2023/2024 fiscal year. After a number of significant changes in both rates and classifications in recent years, the Mayor and County Council opted for more limited change for this coming fiscal year. After over a decade of collaboration between the community and the county, Maui County’s Planning Commission approved updates to the Special Management Area (SMA) and Shoreline Rules. The updates bring more balance and flexibility for homeowners, while also improving coastal resilience for the environment.
