Choosing Between a First Look and an Aisle Reveal

As a Connecticut wedding planner, I prefer when my couples choose to have a first look. Today, I'm going to tell you exactly why (and everything you need to consider to make the right decision for you). I've always believed in empowering my couples to make whatever decision is right for them instead of just expecting them to take my word for it as the expert. I don't believe in giving "blanket advice" and offering "one size fits all" solutions for ANY part of the wedding planning and design process. As you already know (if you are familiar with Brehant Creations), we love to do things a little ..read more

When I started out in this industry I said "I want to be hired to design tables" and I still can't believe that my dream has come true. Although there are so many parts of being a Connecticut wedding planner and designer that I absolutely love, designing wedding table decor that is unique and memorable for every couple is definitely at the top of the list. I could literally talk about wedding tablescapes all day so we wanted to make a post about everything that goes into designing your wedding table decor (in front of you and behind the scenes!). As you'll be able to see, there is a lot more t ..read more

Wedding season seems to be in full force and as someone who lives to create beautiful things, I couldn't be happier. If you've been following me on Instagram, you know that I've been focusing my creative energy on interior design (while I've been confined to the house) and although that has brought me a lot of joy (and nostalgia - since my formal training was in interior design), I have to say how excited I am to be back in the action again. As inquiries start to roll in for 2022 and 2023, it's been bringing up a few frequently asked questions which we wanted to bring you here on the blog! The ..read more

Brehant Creations Events and It's so Ranunculus paired up with The Lace Factory for this boho jungle styled shoot.  The pandemic encouraged tons of people across the world to become plant moms and we thought it would be fun to create a jungle of plants with a 'bring your own plant' styled shoot. So, all the vendors brought one of their favorite plants and we created a wilderness of plants. We wanted to showcase stunning muted flowers mixed with healthy, lucious plants that bring happiness along with tons of boho texture with pillows, blankets, furniture and accessories! Let's talk TOASTS.  We have heard a lot of toasts.  .. A lot of good toasts and a lot of bad toasts.  If you're giving a toast at a wedding, please consider the fact that it is supposed to be about THE COUPLE. We have heard brothers bash the groom because they thought they were funny and talked for over thirty minutes. We have heard dad's talk about everything except the couple for forty minutes, resulting in the bride in tears. SO, our suggestion is to tell your loved ones who are giving the toasts that your coordinator gave them a FIVE minute limit. Limit that shit so it doe ..read more

Brehant Creations Events planned and designed this fun and lively, LGBTQ+ offbeat styled shoot to showcase the beauty of badass, nontraditional women. Originally planned for April and postponed due to COVID, we had extra time to come up with nontraditional designs using the most feminine pastel color scheme we chose. We wanted to showcase how unique, nontraditional designs can be meshed with a very delicate color palette and truly have a "wow factor." Ryan Designs provided the beautiful lounges and driftwood table that sits on 100 year old antique legs. They draped the ceremony area to frame ..read more

Get the scoop on all things cake from guest blogger, Callan Olivia of ineedsugartherapy.com When it comes to budgeting for your cake, make sure you remember that this is part of your meal that you are serving to your guests.  You probably wouldn’t pick a cheap, less tasty option for your guests when it comes to their meal so why skimp on cake? Cutting costs on cake usually means cutting quality (ie. boxed cake mix and greasy overly sweet buttercream) and unfortunately lots of cake (aka your investment) thrown out at the end of the night.  My cakes are made from scratch and I use Swi ..read more

This Little Piggy Went to a Styled Shoot!

We started this entire shoot thinking about our favorite animals; pigs! We wanted to show animal love, diversity and lots and lots of bright flowers. We collaborated with the team from Flair! Floral who used a mix of foraged branches and dried leaves, mixing them with incredible fresh, modern flowers such as quicksand roses, ranunculus', anthurium and panda anemones. This shoot was a spin on modern chic and the color palette of gold, yellows and navy that all stood out in front of the white brick walls and large industrial windows of Warehouse XI. Petals and Plates provided the perfect pop of ..read more
