I was so excited when Jaida’s mom reached out to me to capture sweet 16 portraits to celebrate her milestone birthday! Our adventure began at Harkness Memorial State Park, where we used the backdrop of it’s historic mansion and manicured gardens to capture portraits with an air of elegance and sophistication. Dressed in a pink gown that exuded grace and charm, Jaida inner beauty and grace shone through despite the chilly December temperatures. But our journey didn't end there - we ventured into downtown New London, which was meaningful to her as a New London native. The vibrant downtown energ ..read more

When I had the opportunity to photograph Scott and Jesse, I had no idea the significance of the timing of their portrait session. While we were planning the details of their session, Scott revealed that they had never had professional portraits taken together, not even at their wedding. During their winter session at Bluff Point State Park in Groton, CT, I also learned they were celebrating 10 years of marriage that year. I always enjoy getting to know my clients, and these two were no exceptions. We chatted throughout their session and I got to really see their personalities. Scott is an avi ..read more

One of my absolute favorite things about being a photographer is documenting couples as they grow into families. I met Mike and Katlyn a few years back when they hired me to be their wedding photographer. Our first session together - their engagement session - was held at Harkness State Park here on the CT shoreline and we created some really beautiful images that night. Fast forward a few years later and I have had the honor of capturing the moments of their wedding, newborn photos of their first daughter, her 6-month sitter photos, and finally this family session to celebrate her turning on ..read more

What can I say about this sweet family, aside from they are one of my favorites? I’ve been photographing them for a few years now, as they booked Baby’s First Year Plans with me for their son and daughter. For Soleil’s first birthday last summer, we decided to use the last session that was included in her baby plan for a family session (that included lots of milestone shots of her) at Harkness Memorial State Park. Summer evenings at Harkness are absolutely magical. The sun setting on the beautifully manicured gardens never ceases to take my breath away. For this reason, and so many more, Hark ..read more

Some of you might know that I teach photography - I’ve been teaching at the Mystic Museum of Art since 2012 thanks to Cherie’lin, who was on staff in their education department at the time, and invited to me join the faculty there when their previous photography teacher resigned. Cherie’lin has since moved on to a new career, though we stayed connected on social media, and I was surprised and so excited when she reached out to me last year to photograph her and Scott’s backyard wedding at Scott’s parents home in Jamestown, RI. Since Cherie’lin and Scott live out of state, we communicated abou ..read more

CT Family Photographer | Winter Family Portrait Session at Harkness Park

Family portrait sessions are among my favorite to photograph, even when it’s winter and VERY cold outside! Kelly is a former student of mine, and when she took my class, her son James was just a baby. I always looked forward to seeing her “homework” photos each week because they were sure to include her little ones’ adorable face. I was so psyched when she booked a family portrait session with me to celebrate James’ birthday and to capture some memories together as a family before her husband, who is in the Navy, deployed. It was pretty chilly on the December morning we captured these, but w ..read more

When Audriana contacted me about her and Bryen’s spring wedding at Wrights Mill Farm, I was thrilled. She was a veterinary school classmate of the daughter of one of my favorite photography students, and it is always an honor when friends, students and clients refer me to the people they care about. Wright’s Mill Farm was the perfect place for their wedding, and the horse and carriage added a personal touch for them since they met in veterinary school at Purdue University. Their wedding day was filled with so many great moments with family and friends that I was able to capture with the help ..read more

If you’ve been following my photography over the years, then you know that I LOVE recreating iconic scenes from movies and pop culture with my nieces and nephews. I’ve done Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts and Black Panther so far. This time around, we went for a holiday classic - Home Alone. I recruited my nephews Oliver (5), Lucas (9) and Jackson (11) to play the parts of Kevin, Harry and Marv. We planned out the scenes we wanted to recreate, hunted down costume pieces (from the attic and from online), and found all the perfect spots to shoot at (including Fiddleheads Food Co-op - big thanks ..read more

Liz & Dan's Commitment Ceremony | A Celebration of Love

Liz and Dan are friends of mine who I met a few years back when my sister Melissa, who works for United Cerebral Palsy of Eastern Connecticut, helped me to set up a Help-Portrait style photo day for the individuals who receive their services. Dan was a client of my sisters, and when I met him and his longterm girlfriend, Liz, during that photo day, it was obvious why my sister held him in such high regard. His kindness and joy bring a smile to everyone who meets him, and Liz’s sweet sassiness does the same. After the photo day, we connected on facebook, and I enjoyed periodic messages from th ..read more
