In our 15 years of wedding photography, we’ve seen it all. We’ve photographed about every variation of weather, emotion and level of extravagance. With over 500 weddings under our belt, you’d be hard pressed to find something that shocks us. Let us introduce you to Taylor & Scott and their Sofitel Legend Santa Clara Wedding in Cartagena, Colombia. In our pre-wedding consult calls with Taylor & Scott, they mentioned performers, beach days and extravagant floral displays. Over the years, we’ve learned take high expectations with a grain of salt as everyone dreams of just how magical ever ..read more

Damian & McCrea’s Tallahassee Plantation Wedding
Gillespie Photography Blog

Many of our couples are connected to past weddings we’ve photographed, whether they were a guest or someone in the wedding party. They know how we work. They know we’re high energy. They know they’ll get actual moment based photographs and not something scripted. We met Damian at a Camp Hale Wedding several years ago when we were documenting Robbie & Bria’s big day. When he and his fiance decided to get married on her family’s property in northern Florida, they began looking for local photographers, but just couldn’t find someone that checked all the boxes. Damian, having seen our editoria ..read more

2023 Behind the Scenes
Gillespie Photography Blog

If you ask a wedding photographer what their job is, they’ll respond with a three page list of all the things they do, that don’t involve a camera. We’d go as far as to say that most couples don’t hire us based on the merit of the photos, but the service we give. There are so many talented photographers out there. Spend a few minutes on Fearless Photographers or WPJA and you’ll see just how competitive the photos are. Photographers are pushing the limits to unseen arenas of technicality and coverage. So, why do we continue to book weddings? Because of our connection with couples and our empath ..read more

Nestled amidst the Dolomite Mountains, Col Pradat sits above the town of Colfosco and truly is a dream wedding destination. Iris & Alex’s choice to have a Col Pradat Wedding was a testament to their appreciation for nature’s splendor and love for travel. Having photographed Alex’s brothers wedding in Gateway, CO, we were beyond thrilled when these two asked us to document their wedding at Col Pradat. We flew into Venice with no expectations, but were blown away by the amazing eats, history and rich culture. After a few days in the iconic floating city, we made our way north to join up with ..read more

Zach & Molley’s Winter Proposal on Aspen Mountain
Gillespie Photography Blog
by Trent Gillespie

Working with Zach to plan his Proposal on Aspen Mountain, we had to pivot due to impending snowstorm. After flying in directly from San Diego that morning, they quickly made their way to the top of Silver Queen Gondola, so Zach could get down on one knee and ask the big question. I was close by with my cameras to capture the big moment. Molley’s reaction could not have been better. Shortly after he proposed, these two made their way back down the snow-packed mound to the ASPENX Club for a few celebratory drinks. The weather could not have more pleasant as it was a sunny 40 degrees on top for t ..read more

Planning a proposal can be a lot of work, but we love when it comes full circle as it is so rewarding. We connected with Audrey’s mother at church, who put us in contact with Zac. The Breceknridge Nordic Center had a special meaning to them both so it seemed perfect to take a snow cat ride together and pop the question in one of Breckenridges most breathtaking backdrops. Audrey’s reaction was priceless and she was overwhelmed with emotion. The Breckenridge Nordic Center even surprised them with a bottle of champagne to celebrate the occasion. Little did Zak know that he was also in for a surpr ..read more

Most of our Arapahoe Basin Wedding couples are adventurous, so when Blake & Lauren booked us for wedding photography, we figured we might be in for something more than just engagement photos. With both of them being avid backcountry skiers, they wanted do integrate a bit of that into their session. We decided to take it up another notch and integrate our machine for their engagements while backcountry skiing on Shrine Pass. We met these two at the Vail Pass parking lot and then jumped into our tracked Honda Pioneer to make our way up Shrine Pass for a few turns in the deep powder and some ..read more

February in Vail is going to feel like winter, but fortunately for Pedro & Meredith, we had a bluebird day with plenty of sunshine. With the help of Autumn Parry, we started their day in Beaver Creek for wedding prep before making our way to Vail Village for some portraits and wedding party photos. Shortly after, we made our way to West Vail for the ceremony and reception. Pedro & Meredith’s Donovan Pavilion Wedding was a joy to photograph and ended with a surprise champagne gun appearance. It was our first experience with such a device and we feel every wedding reception should have o ..read more

Palak & Shannon’s Denver Indian Wedding at The Curtis Hotel

We met Palak back in 2018 when he was a groomsmen at Andrew & Karen’s C Lazy U Ranch Wedding. As you can imagine, we were elated to reconnect when he reached out telling us about his engagement and upcoming Curtis Hotel Wedding. Shannon & Palak wanted to highlight their two very different cultures, Indian & western traditional. We’d be lying if we said the western traditional was as exciting as the Indian Ceremony. Shutting down Curtis Street for Palak’s Baraat was quite the feat, but they pulled it off without a hitch. After the Indian ceremony was finished, these two races to the ..read more

For us, New Years Eve usually means working, but it’s hard to consider it work when we’re having this much fun. When Shelby & Emily contacted us about their Four Seasons Hotel Denver Wedding, we were all in. We started the day photographing Emily, her sister, nieces and her closest friends while they got treated in Four Seasons Denver Spa. Shortly after, we headed up to her suite so she could adorn her fabulous wedding dress with gold highlights, perfectly fit for a NYE Wedding. Shortly after Shelby was dressed in his suite, Emily made her way down to the lobby for a first look on the gran ..read more
