An engagement session for a Colorado couple who loves hiking wouldn’t be complete without a dog being involved. Sarah and Joe brought their sweet puppy, Luna to their engagement shoot who was a well behaved angel. Most photographers know photoshoots involving dogs don’t always go as planned, but Luna made sure to be the exception. The only thing stronger than a couple’s love for their dog was probably Joe and Sarah’s love for each other.

The wedding party–ever full of fun and happy vibes–came with us to a nearby trail for some beautiful photos before the ceremony began. In true Colorado fashion, a snowstorm made an appearance right as their ceremony was getting underway and everyone reveled in the magic of the moment as they watched on. Amidst the stunning mountain vistas of Breckenridge, Casey and Nate’s dream of a ski lift engagement session was momentarily shattered by the arrival of rain and lightning. Safety protocols dictated the closure of the Breckenridge gondola and subsequent lifts (up to 30 minutes per strike with no end in sight). However, this setback only fueled their determination to find an alternative that would still capture the essence of their love story. Knowing the Breckenridge area like the back of my hand, I offered some alternative locations for their shoot.
So we headed to Blue Lakes, where I was con ..read more
