You might've visited Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area for a hike - there are more than 40,000 acres to explore, including a few of my favorite hikes only 30 minutes east of Atlanta. But did you know that the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area is also home to a wildlife center? AWARE (the Atlanta Wild Animal Rescue Effort) was founded in 1999, and accepts up to 2,000 injured or orphaned animals each year. AWARE focuses on rehabilitation efforts for these animals, as well as community education on how to peacefully co-exist with wildlife. When it comes to wildlife rehabilitation, AWAR ..read more

I'm an avid hiker, and I love that Atlanta has great hikes less than 1-2 hours from the city. A recent favorite and quick-to-access hiking spot has been Arabia Mountain, located just 30 minutes east of downtown Atlanta. I've partnered up with Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area to share their Leave No Trace Campaign - with how special the site is, it's especially important to keep an eye where you walk while visiting to preserve the mountain and it's surrounding park as much as possible. Read on for more about Arabia and how you can safely visit while preserving the park! Arabia is unique t ..read more

[My Review] The New Cash Pop Game from the Georgia Lottery
ATL Adventurer Blog
by atladventurerblog

This post is sponsored by the Georgia Lottery; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Playing Cash Pop on the go at one of my favorite new brunch spots! I grew up in Florida, where playing the lottery was a right of passage when you turned 18. Now, living in Atlanta, I’m in a very walkable neighborhood, and don’t drive much anymore - as a result, it’s been a while since I’ve played the lottery (as I’m not stopping by gas stations as much!) When I learned about the new Cash Pop game from The Georgia Lottery, I was super excited about how accessible it is on-the-go. You can play from yo ..read more

Get to Know SJAC Food Groups

I love supporting local businesses, as well as helping to promote national brands who have a great story to tell in Atlanta. SJAC Food Groups reached out to me to bring me into one of their Atlanta Zaxby's locations to try their food, and I was excited to learn how such a large, recognizable brand was connecting with their customers locally. While meeting with the SJAC team over dinner, I was so impressed to learn that SJAC Food Groups is the largest Black-owned Zaxby's licensee in the nation. President & CEO Sterling Coleman has been working with Zaxby's for over 16 years, and now owns 8 ..read more

Fernbank - An Atlanta Bucket List Destination

This post is sponsored by the Fernbank Museum; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Is it pouring rain and you're in search of a fun indoor activity? Or perhaps the sun is shining and you can't wait to get outside. No matter the weather, Fernbank should be at the top of your list for any Atlanta occasion. Fernbank represents a convergence of science and nature in a bright, modern environment. Nestled in Druid Hills, but easily accessible from many Atlanta neighborhoods, it feels like a peaceful, natural oasis in the heart of the city. Fernbank features one of the largest assemblages ..read more

Seasons 52 - Harvest Menu
ATL Adventurer Blog
by atladventurerblog

I recently made my first trip to Seasons 52 (the Sandy Springs location in Atlanta) to try out their fall Harvest menu! Available now through November 21st, the Harvest menu features 3 courses (choice of salad or soup, an entree, and a Mini dessert indulgence) for just $29.95 - such a great deal! I started off with the spinach and caramelized pear salad (I love anything with pears) before tucking into the venison chop with a side of sweet potato mash. The venison was perfectly cooked and not too gamey (so don't be afraid to try it!) I also got to try the cedar plank salmon from the Harvest men ..read more

As a food blogger, I regularly attend events and am constantly exposed to new restaurants & concepts. It's rare that I find truly "show-stopping" experiences involving food after more than three years of running ATL Adventurer - call me a bit jaded, but I feel like I've seen it all! I recently had the opportunity to partner with Benihana and participate in their "Be the Chef" Experience - and I'm so excited to share how memorable and unique this experience really is! I was blown away by the food (of course), but also the amazing staff's energy and commitment to sharing the Benihana teppan ..read more

The newest Grub Burger Bar location is officially opening in Sandy Springs on Tuesday May 1st - I couldn't be more excited for this fun, funky new location! I love the Grub menu - there's a mix of tasty options (like their delicious Southwest-inspired salads) and some pretty heavy duty favorites (the mac & cheese burger is a beast!) There's something for everyone, from cheese fries & boozy milkshakes to salads & bowls. My must tries - the mac & cheese burger (it's super cheesy and a little decadent!) and the California Chicken Bowl - I loved the ancho lime vinaigrette dressing ..read more
